Treatment FAQs

Why do you get acne?

Acne vulgaris is caused by an excess of androgens (male sex hormones) that promote an increase in sebum production. This triggers a blockage of the skin’s pores consisting of sebum and dead skin cells.

Clogging creates an environment where acne bacteria have the opportunity to multiply, which is seen on the skin as pimples, pustules (pus in the skin) and blackheads.

How does a treatment with Acnelan take place?

The treatment consists of a series of high-tech steps, which you can read more about below.

1. CLEAN

The skin is thoroughly cleansed with a cleansing mousse containing urea and chlorhexidine, which inhibits the growth of bacteria, while also calming and soothing the skin. Impurities and excess fat are removed. The skin is now degreased, so the peeling penetrates even deeper into the skin.

2. ACNELAN PEELING

The Acnelan peeling itself is completely unique, as it contains a combination of different acids primarily extracted from fruit: salicylic acid, shikimic acid and mandelic acid as well as sodium lepargilate.

In contrast to regular beautician peels, the Acnelan peel contains medicinal concentrations of fruit acid, which act as a vacuum cleaner in the pores. The skin is deep-cleansed thoroughly, at the same time as a peeling process is initiated in the skin.

The peeling stings a little, which intensifies when it is subsequently neutralized and removed. The dwindling and burning sensation is gone approx. 30 seconds after the neutralization of the peeling. The skin will subsequently begin to peel off the old acne-plagued skin, so that the skin becomes clearer and more uniform.

3. POST- PEEL CRYSTAL FIBER MASK

Post – Peel Crystal Fiber Mask is applied to the skin – the latest generation of facial masks designed to improve the cell renewal process, improve the hydrolipidic film in the epidermis and significantly increase the skin’s moisture levels. The mask contains hyaluronic acid and seaweed extract, which moisturize and soothe the skin.

The mask is made of crystal fibers, a material for medical use based on 3D nanofibers and is 100% natural, safe and hygienic. The mask adapts to the contours of the face and has an occlusive (sealing) effect that improves permeability and leads the active ingredients down into the deep layers of the skin.

4. PORE SEALING SHIELD

After the Post- Peel Crystal Fiber Mask, Pore Sealing is applied to the skin Shield – an ampoule consisting of moisturizing factors that seal the skin so that the ingredients from the mask penetrate even deeper into the leather skin.

5. SUNSCREEN WITH A HIGH PHYSICAL FILTER

Finish with an oil-free sunscreen with a high physical filter. It is important to use sunscreen the following week, when the skin will be more sensitive than usual.

How long is the downtime for treatment?

After the treatment, the skin will feel dry and tight for the first few days, but it will look more or less normal. You can go to work.

The skin starts peeling around the mouth on the 2nd day. After this, you start peeling on the cheeks and finally on the forehead. The skin typically peels between the 2nd and 5th day. So, if you do the treatment on a Wednesday-Thursday, you will look nice on Monday.

Is Botox safe?

Yes sure. Botox has been FDA-approved since 2002 for the effective treatment of aging lines. Like most cosmetic treatments, side effects can occur. Some clients report minor bruising, while approx. 1-3% experience a ‘hanging eyelid’. However, both parts can be corrected or will disappear with time. To reduce the risk of complications, it is important that anti-wrinkle injections are given by highly qualified practitioners in a safe and medical environment. We have a team of doctors and cosmetics nurses with many years of combined experience.

How do I get rid of wrinkles?

Wrinkles are inevitable, but they don’t have to be permanent. There are a number of professional skin treatments designed to correct fine lines and wrinkles – and even help prevent them. These include injectable anti-aging treatments such as Botox, dermal fillers, laser skin rejuvenation, micro needling and chemical peels to name a few. There are also treatments designed to reduce skin aging and promote collagen production, such as laser treatment, micro-abrasion and mechanical exfoliation.

Which areas can be treated with Botox?

Botox injections are mainly used for the face. Forehead wrinkles, wrinkles around the eyes, and the “11 lines” between the eyebrows are the most popular areas. Botox can also prevent excessive sweating.

What are the benefits of Botox?

Reduction of negative signs of aging – look less tired or grumpy

As we get older, we get lines and wrinkles on our face. This is because with age we lose fat tissue, hyaluronic acid, collagen and elastin fibers in the skin. The skin becomes thinner and the activity of the facial muscles becomes prominent, creating mimic lines and wrinkles where the skin folds. It is completely natural and inevitable.

Some wrinkles are charming and can give character to the face. We know that – and we love that. We could call them beautiful wrinkles. Others leave negative signs of aging including a sad, stressed or angry expression. It is these wrinkles that most people are upset about and would like to see reduced. That is probably why you are reading about Botox treatment right now.

Do you have wrinkles that give a wrong impression of you and how you feel inside? It could be downturned corners of the mouth. It’s not nice when people ask if you’re mad when you’re not. Tell us what you see and experience and we will help you with the right treatment.

Can you prevent wrinkles with Botox?

Botox also works preventively so that wrinkles do not develop. If you start with Botox before the wrinkles become deep, you can prevent the wrinkles from developing. Even if you stop getting Botox, you will have prevented the development of wrinkles during the time you have had the Botox treatments.

At Derma Solution, the treatment is carried out by our specially trained cosmetic nurse with many years of experience who is approved and registered with the Agency for Patient Safety. She continues to further her education by attending congresses and courses around the world to always be one of the leaders in Denmark.

What can be treated with Botox?

By using small amounts of Botox, Vistabel and Azzelure. It is possible to reduce lines and wrinkles and negative signs of aging. Botox is used to treat wrinkles and lines in the upper face such as the worry wrinkle between the eyebrows, forehead wrinkles and smile lines around the eyes.

Botox is also used for facial contouring (V – shaping) of the face, so that you will look slimmer and thinner. Your cheekbones will also become more prominent, without anything being filled in them. Botox can also be used to reduce increased sweat production in the armpit.

At Derma Solution, we use Botox to treat the following areas:

  1. Worry wrinkle
  2. Forehead wrinkles
  3. Smile wrinkles (crow’s toes)
  4. Eyebrow lift
  5. Nasal wrinkles (Bunny Lines)
  6. Gummy Smile _
  7. Lip lift
  8. Dimpled chin _
  9. Downturned corners of the mouth
  10. Nefertiti lift (Neck wrinkles)
  11. Jaw muscle reduction (V- shape)
  12. Armpit sweat treatment
  13. Microtox treatment

Worry wrinkle

The worry wrinkle is the most requested area to be treated with Botox. The worry wrinkle develops when you furrow your brows together. This could be, for example, if you are angry, worried, exert yourself in front of the computer, or when you squint out in the sun. The worry wrinkle can make you look grumpy and angry, even if you’re not. Botox works by causing the muscles to relax so that the eye area opens up. You look fresher and happier already after the 1st treatment.

Forehead wrinkles

A little forehead wrinkles give character, but a mortar road of deep forehead wrinkles can make us look older than we are and then we feel. Botox works by making the muscles in the forehead relax, so that wrinkles are softened. At Derma Solution, we are in favor of treating the forehead with “baby Botox “. We smooth out the wrinkles, but without you losing your facial expression. For us, it is important that the result is 100% natural.

Smile wrinkles (crow’s toes)

Smile lines can be cute and dressy, but when they turn into the so-called crow’s feet, they can make us look significantly older than we are. When we treat the wrinkles around the eyes, we are very conservative. We retain some of the mimicry. If all wrinkles are removed, you may end up looking too “stiff”. We want to avoid that. By treating crow’s feet, the eye opens up, the brow is lifted and you look significantly fresher.

Eyebrow lift

By placing Botox in the outer part of the eyebrow, we can make the orbicularis muscle relax, so that the brow lifts a few millimeters. In this way, the eye is opened up. It is a moderate lift, so it will always give a 100% natural look. So, you can’t get a surprised or surprised expression when you get a brow lift with Botox.

Nasal wrinkles (Bunny Lines)

Some people tend to wrinkle their nose when they laugh. Over time, distinct lines form along the sides of the nose, which are visible all the time, and not just when you smile. In the event that these wrinkles are very strong, we can apply Botox to soften them. By putting Botox in the Bunny Lines, we can also teach people to laugh “normally”, without the muscles on the nose being activated.

Botox for gummy smile / Gummy Smile

If you tend to show a lot of gum when you smile, a few drops of Botox can help give you a more harmonious smile. Gummy smiles are caused by overactive muscles that pull the upper lip up too high. Since only a little Botox is used, this area is an additional area. The result is seen within 3-10 days and lasts for up to 3 months.

Lip lift

Were you born with almost no upper lip? Or does your upper lip disappear when you smile? Then a lip lift with Botox is something for you. A Botox lip lift works by relaxing the muscle around the lips slightly so that the lip lifts. Botox will also make the lip not disappear completely when you smile. The lip lift is very subtle, and it can be advantageously combined with fillers. It also helps to minimize smoking wrinkles around the mouth. Mimicry is not inhibited, so you will be able to use your mouth as normal.

Dimpled chin (chin wrinkles)

People with an overbite, or who have had an overbite, often form what is called “dimpled “. chin” when they smile or try to close their mouths. This is due to an overcompensation of the metalis muscles, which can give rise to orange peel-like chin wrinkles. Botox can make the chin muscle relax so that the skin on the chin looks smooth and fine.

Downturned corners of the mouth

Downturned corners of your mouth can make you look grumpy, even if you’re not. Botox can cause the depressor muscles in the lower face to relax, so that the corner of the mouth lifts in a subtle way. It is a moderate lift that can never become unnatural or strange to look at.

Nefertiti lift (Neck wrinkles)

Nefertiti lift is named after the Egyptian queen Nefertiti, who was famous for her beautiful, long neck and jawline. A Nefertiti Lift is a non- invasive treatment. Small drops of Botox are injected down the neck muscle and jaw line to lift the neck and make the long strings along the neck less visible. The treatment provides a subtle and decadent neck lift.

Jaw muscle reduction (V- shape)

Are you sad about having wide jaws? Then V – shape is something for you. Men such as Brad Pitt look aesthetically pleasing with wide and masculine jaws. However, it is not always aesthetically pleasing to have wide jaws as a woman. Feminine facial features are an oval or V-shaped face shape. If you, as a woman, have large jaw muscles, Botox can be injected into the masseter muscle, after which the muscle itself will become smaller after approx. 6 weeks. As the muscle becomes smaller, the face becomes slenderer and more oval. The cheekbones also become more marked as the jaw muscle recedes more.

Armpit sweat treatment

Are you tired of constantly having wet patches under your arms because you sweat a lot? Increased sweating can be extremely annoying and socially inhibiting. Botox can be injected into the armpit and stop sweat production for up to 6 months. Botox works by inhibiting the nerve signals to the sweat glands, after which sweat production stops.

MicroTox treatment

MicroTox is a treatment for the entire face, where a cocktail of vitamins, minerals and a bit of Botox is injected into the entire facial skin. Where Botox is injected into the muscles, MicroTox works exclusively in the skin. Here, the effect will be sebum-regulating, so that the pores contract. At the same time, the skin receives a vitamin bomb that gives glow and vitality to the skin.

What should I do before a treatment?

Three days before the start of treatments, clients are advised to drink at least 2 liters of water every day. Then ultrasound and radio frequency waves can better hit the water molecules under the skin’s surface. The treatment becomes more effective when there is a lot of water in the tissue. It is also a good idea to drink water 3 days after the treatment.

What happens during a treatment?

The treatment is relaxing and painless. A thorough examination is carried out, during which a treatment plan tailored to your specific needs is drawn up. We take the necessary measurements and ask you to sit or lie down, depending on the area to be treated. The treatment area is discreetly uncovered and gel is applied. The cavitation ultrasound device melts the fat cells in the area you want to shape and/or get smoother. The radio frequency device is slowly rotated over the skin and emits radio waves through the top layer of the skin down to the subcutaneous tissue. The subcutaneous tissue is heated to between 40-45 degrees without burning the skin’s surface. Your skin will feel warmer in the treated area. It is important to let us know if the treatment becomes uncomfortable for you, because then we will work on to the next area. At the same time as radio frequency, a vacuum is used to increase blood circulation in the area and promote lymphatic drainage.

What can I expect from the treatment?

The treatment improves both the deep and superficial layers of the skin. The skin is rejuvenated, cellulite is reduced and the body is shaped. The treatment is safe, effective and non- invasive. Most clients experience a reduced circumference after the first treatment with increasing results after each treatment, but especially after the 3rd treatment. The results may vary from person to person due to different tissue structure, treatment area, age, metabolism, medication and hormonal changes. Healthy diet and more physical activity will maintain the results. There will be improvements in results several weeks after the last treatment. You continue to burn fat for up to 12 weeks, which means that most people do not produce new fat cells and the fat reduction can be permanent. This procedure will also give you firmer and smoother skin than before, as the radiofrequency treatment encourages the fibroblasts in the skin to produce collagen.

How long does each treatment take?

A treatment will normally last between 15 and 60 minutes, depending on the affected treatment areas.

Is there a recovery period?

There is no recovery time after the treatment. Patients can return to work or other activities immediately. In rare cases, discomfort or swelling may occur.

Are there any risks associated with this treatment?

This treatment is non – invasive, so there are few real risks as long as there are no contraindications. Occasionally, patients may experience some discomfort or swelling, which is easily managed.

How many treatments should I have?

Patients can see results already after the first treatment. However, most patients get the best results after 3 to 6 treatments. This depends on body mass and girth, age, hormone balance, medication and your desired goals. When you eat the recommended healthy diet, the number of treatments needed can be reduced. During your consultation, we will suggest an appropriate number of treatments to achieve optimal results. A maintenance treatment is recommended every 6 months.

Can I get treatments at an affordable price?

The price depends on the size of the area or the number of areas treated. Smaller areas that require less time cost less than larger areas. After your consultation, we will determine the number of necessary treatments and calculate the costs. The treatment can be compared to other treatments for cellulite and skin smoothing. Our goal is to make treatments at affordable prices and for you to achieve good results.

Do the results differ from person to person?

Yes, in general well-cared for skin achieves better results than dry skin. Dry skin has fewer water molecules and it is harder for the ultrasound and radio frequency waves to work with. The skin is less elastic and more fragile, so we recommend keeping the skin soft and moist before the treatment.

Can customers get both IPL and RF?

It is best to get RF 7 days after the IPL treatment.

Why would you recommend that patients should not receive ultrasound RF treatment during menstruation?

During menstruation, your body may be more sensitive to treatment.

Can the treatment remove stretch marks?

RF treatment will not remove stretch marks, but they will be minimized. The RF energy helps to rebuild the damaged and old collagen and improve the surrounding skin and lighten the pigmentation. Feel free to ask us about solutions for reducing stretch marks.

Is it possible to lose weight with this treatment?

When you reduce your fat deposits you may experience weight loss, but it is not a treatment for weight loss. The treatment is used to reduce fat and cellulite, which reduces the circumference of your body. It will be recommended to follow some dietary suggestions throughout your treatment program. It will improve the removal of fat deposits and cause weight loss.

Will I lose weight with ultrasound cavitation?

Ultrasound cavitation is not a method for losing weight, but is used to shape the localized areas that do not improve with diet and exercise.

How does ultrasonic cavitation work?

A trained therapist will apply a gel and place the ultrasound device on your skin. Specific parameters for ultrasonic cavitation are selected by your practitioner to ensure that only the targeted area is treated. When the ultrasonic cavitation device comes into contact with the skin. ultrasound waves are emitted at a low level. They move at high speed in circles, compressing and expanding, creating pressure effects on liquid molecules and fat cells. This continued process will result in microbubbles getting bigger and bumping into each other and bursting. This process does not affect the tissue of the skin. The ultrasound waves destroy the membranes of the fat cells. The fat cells contain triglycerides, which are released into the intramuscular fluid and broken down by your metabolism. The cell membranes of the fat cells are damaged and triglycerides are released into the body. This will begin the process of breaking them down. Glycerol and the fatty acids are transported in the blood and bound to albumin and are slowly broken down in the liver to be removed or moved to other tissues as building blocks or used as energy. This means that the fat is removed through the lymphatic system and eventually excreted in the urine.

How many treatments should I have?

Your therapist will be able to indicate how many treatments you should have depending on the area and volume. Usually 6 to 10 treatments are needed, but this varies from person to person.

What are your recommendations before and after ultrasonic cavitation?

Diet with low calorie content but with sufficient amounts of proteins and carbohydrates. Drink 1.5 liters of water before and after the treatment. It is important to drink water to flush away waste products and remove the fat. Regular exercise such as walking, swimming or other cardiovascular activities.

Am I suitable for ultrasound?

You are if you do not have the following problems:

  • Under 18
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Liver or kidney disease
  • Hypertension
  • Heart problems and pacemakers.
  • Diabetes
  • Poor blood or lymph circulation
  • Allergy to certain metals
  • Cancer
  • Spiral – the stomach cannot receive treatment
  • High cholesterol
  • Autoimmune diseases
  • Skin infections and diseases
  • Tears on the skin or skin abrasions
  • Metabolic diseases
  • Takes antibiotics and anti-inflammatory or blood-thinning medication

What result will I get?

We achieve the best results when we use peeling for sun damaged skin and acne scars. Peeling has proven to be highly effective on the fine and fair Scandinavian skin, which tends to be strongly affected by the sun and aging. Sun damage can be reduced and, in this case, both the complexion and structure of the skin are improved and give the skin a smoother and more uniform appearance.

If you have hyperpigmentation, you will probably experience an improvement already after the first treatment. In general, it is recommended to plan a course of 3-4 treatments at intervals of a few weeks to achieve maximum effect.

Acne scars, wrinkles and fine lines around the eyes etc. can also be reduced with peeling. Peeling works perfectly together with other treatments to reduce scars and wrinkles – we often tailor long-term programs for our clients. We see the best results when you combine several types of treatments in one program.

The result from peeling is permanent, so small signs of ageing, small spots or a serious skin problem can be improved forever. After that, it’s just a matter of caring for the skin to maintain the beautiful result.

Do I need a consultation first?

Depending on the type of peel used, you may require a consultation.

How does the treatment take place?

The skin must be clean and whole – there must be no wounds or tears where the skin is to be peeled.

The peeling is a multi -step process. First, the skin is thoroughly cleansed, which is followed by a particularly active exfoliation, before the peeling itself is applied as a mask to the treatment area. It can be on the face, neck or chest – areas where the skin is delicate and small pigment changes or scars stand out. The peeling may sting the skin a little and may feel warm.

After the actual peeling, the skin is treated with stimulating, soothing and building products that balance the skin. Right after the peeling, the skin is smooth, moisturised, more uniform and with a fantastic glow.

To take care of your newly treated skin, use factor SPF 50+ for a few weeks after your treatment. Your therapist will also recommend nourishing creams that you should use after your peeling to nourish and maintain the effect.

What conditions does a chemical peel treat?

Chemical peels are used to treat certain skin conditions or to improve your appearance by improving the tone and texture of your skin.

Chemical peels are most commonly performed on your face, neck or hands. They can help reduce or improve:

  • Fine lines under your eyes or around your mouth and wrinkling caused by sun damage, aging and hereditary factors.
  • Certain types of acne.
  • Mild scarring.
  • Sun spots, age spots, liver spots, freckles, uneven skin colouring.
  • Precancerous scaly spots called actinic keratosis.
  • Rough skin, scaly patches, dull complexion.
  • Dark patches (melasma) due to pregnancy or taking birth control pills.

You will work with your dermatologist to determine the depth of your peel. This joint decision can vary depending upon the condition of your skin and the objectives of treatment.

Sags, bulges, deep scars, deep facial lines and more severe wrinkles don’t respond well to chemical peels. If these are your concerns, other cosmetic surgical procedures, such as carbon dioxide laser resurfacing, a face lift, brow lift, eye lift or soft tissue filler will be better options. A dermatologic surgeon can help determine the best treatment for your concerns.

Is a chemical peel good for all skin types?

Generally, superficial peels can be used on all skin types. However, if you have a darker skin tone, you have a greater risk of experiencing a darkening of your skin after treatment. This condition is called post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. If you have a naturally darker skin tone, you may want to get the advice of your dermatologist about other less aggressive treatments to reduce the risk of hyperpigmentation.

Chemical peeling may also not be recommended if you:

  • Have a history of abnormal skin scarring.
  • Have extra coloring in your scars.
  • Have skin conditions or take medications that make your skin more sensitive.
  • Can’t stay out of the sun for the healing period.

How are chemical peels performed?

A chemical peel can be performed in a doctor’s office or in a surgery center as an outpatient procedure. Your skin will be thoroughly cleansed with an agent that removes excess oils, while your eyes and hair are protected. A chemical solution is then applied to your skin. Chemical solutions typically used include glycolic acid, trichloroacetic acid, salicylic acid, lactic acid or carbolic acid (phenol). The different types of chemicals cause a controlled injury, each penetrating through to a different skin depth, then peeling away to reveal a new layer of skin.

The different chemical solutions provide different results. The choice of chemical depends on your goal. You will work with your dermatologist to determine the depth of your peel.

  • A light (“lunchtime”) chemical peel provides subtle improvement over time and is often done in a series. The outermost layer of skin is removed. This choice may be best if you have fine wrinkling, acne, uneven skin coloring or dry, rough sun-damaged skin to help promote a healthy glow. Recovery from this type of peel may be within hours to a few days but with little to no down time.

  • A medium chemical peel gives your skin a smooth, fresh look. The outermost layer and the upper part of your middle skin layer are removed. This choice may be best if you have uneven or moderate skin discoloring, age spots, acne scarring or fine-to-moderate wrinkles. Recovery from this type of peel may take a week or more and require some down time.

  • A deep chemical peel produces the most dramatic results. This chemical penetrates down to the lower middle layer of your skin. Recovery time is longer with a deep peel. This choice may be best if you have moderate lines and wrinkles, extensive sun-damaged skin, deep acne scars, blotchy skin, and/or precancerous growths called actinic keratosis. A deep chemical peel requires pretreatment for up to eight weeks. Your doctor will provide specific instructions. A deep chemical peel is a one-time only treatment if applied to your face and does have significant down time.

To prepare for your chemical peel, some general instructions include:

  • Avoid tanning and direct sun exposure for two weeks before each treatment.
  • Apply topical products (such as hydroquinone) as instructed before treatment to prepare your skin.
  • Don’t use any products containing retinoids (such as tretinoin) one to two weeks before treatment, unless your physician tells you differently.
  • If you have been prescribed oral antibiotics or an oral antiviral medicine, start taking it at least 24 hours before your chemical peel.
  • Peel areas must be free of any open sores, lesions or skin infections.

Your doctor will give you specific instructions for your peel type and your unique skin condition.

Day of peel: Your skin will be thoroughly cleaned. If you are having a deep chemical peel, you will receive general anaesthesia (you will be asleep).

The procedure: During a chemical peel, solution is applied to your skin. You may feel a warm to somewhat hot sensation that will last a few minutes. This is followed by a stinging sensation. To relieve the sting, a cool compress may be applied your skin. The chemical is then washed off and/or neutraliser.

What should I expect after the chemical peel?

What to expect varies depending on the depth of your chemical peel.

If you’ve had a light chemical peel:

  • Expect a sunburn-like reaction to occur after your peel, meaning you’ll see redness followed by scaling that lasts between three and seven days.
  • Apply lotion or cream as directed until your skin heals. After your skin heals, apply daily sunscreen.
  • You can wear makeup immediately after treatment or the next day.
  • Additional peels may be repeated every two to five weeks until you achieve your desired results. Typically three to five peels are needed to achieve your goal.

If you’ve had a medium chemical peel:

  • Expect some redness, swelling, stinging and flaking of your skin. Swelling may last and/or worsen for 48 hours. Blisters can develop and will break open. Skin will crust and peel off over seven to 14 days.
  • Perform daily soaks as directed by your doctor. Apply ointment after each soak. Apply lotion or cream daily. Don’t expose your skin to sunlight until completely healed.
  • Antiviral medication will need to be taken for 10 to 14 days.
  • You can wear makeup after five to seven days.
  • Additional medium-depth peels may be repeated at six to 12 months intervals, if needed, to maintain results.

If you’ve had a deep chemical peel:

  • The treatment area will be bandaged. Your bandages will be removed in a few days. Expect a healing time of 14 to 21 days.
  • Perform daily soaks as directed by your doctor. Apply ointment after each soak. After 14 days, apply moisturizer as directed. Don’t expose your skin to sun for three to six months.
  • Antiviral medication will need to be taken for 10 to 14 days.
  • Wait at least 14 days before using any makeup.
  • You can only have one deep peel performed on your face.

To get the best results, regardless of the depth of your peel, follow these tips:

  • Don’t use a tanning bed or other type of indoor or even outdoor tanning while your skin is healing.
  • After your skin heals, always apply a daily sunscreen.
  • Apply a daily moisturizer, as directed, to keep your skin moist to prevent scarring.

Your new skin is fragile and more susceptible to complications. Your doctor will provide you with post-treatment instructions to reduce the chance of developing abnormal skin color after your peel and other complications.

If your skin itches, swells or burns, call your doctor. Scratching your skin could lead to an infection.

Cosmelan Peeling Treatment Work?
Cosmelan Depigmentation affects melanin formation directly and thus makes it possible to reduce hyperpigmentation effectively, so that the skin becomes more uniform, smooth and glows. This takes place by inhibiting the enzyme tyrosinase, which contributes to the formation of pigment (Melanin). Cosmelan treatment is known worldwide for its effectiveness and high safety margin, and the treatment can be used on all skin types, all year round.

Before treatment with Cosmelan Peeling
Before your treatment with Cosmelan peeling, you come to a free consultation our clinic, where we review the treatment and ensure that you are suitable for the treatment. Please avoid sun exposure for approx. one month before the treatment as well as use of self-tanner and spray tan right up to the treatment.

How does the treatment take place?
Step 1 – at the clinic

The Cosmelan peeling must be left on for 8-12 hours
The peeling is applied at the clinic after thorough degreasing of the skin. The peeling looks like a mud mask and must remain on the skin for 8-12 hours (depending on skin type and skin sensitivity). The peeling itself fails as soon as it comes on, but it stops after a short time. You leave the clinic with the mask on and wash it off after the recommended time. It can be an advantage to have a driver with you or stay near the clinic, as you look a bit funny with the mask on.

First visible result after 4-7 days
During the day, the peeling will penetrate deep into the skin and remove hyperpigmentation by neutralizing pigment production. The peeling will increase the peeling of the skin, so that the darkly pigmented skin will begin to peel after 4-7 days, after which the skin will already look nicer.

Final results can be seen up to 3 months later
As pigment often lies deep in the skin, it can take up to 3 months before you see the final result. A large part of the treatment is home care, where you apply the Cosmelan 2 cream daily, which is a milder version of the Cosmelan peeling itself, consisting of the same ingredients.

Step 2 – Home care
In the first 6 weeks, you must use a skin care program from Mesoestetic, which is included in the package. It is important that you only use this product package and no other products, as the composition is crucial for your results. If you use other creams together with the Cosmelan products, it can at worst neutralize the effect of the treatment. As it is medical skin care, all pH values in the products are matched to each other, which is why a mix with other creams can change the PH value and the chemical compounds in the treatment.

Home performance
The home care program consists of the following products:

1) Facial Gel Cleanser or Hydra Milk Cleanser
Removes make-up and effectively cleans the skin’s surface. Derma compatible pH value that does not change the hydrolipidic film on the skin.

2) Hydratonic
Moisturizing face tonic with cucumber extract that completes the cleansing of the skin by removing residual impurities and blockages. Has an astringent effect on the leeks, it neutralizes calcium from the water and prepares the skin for the Cosmelan 2 cream. In Denmark, we have a lot of lime in the water, which settles on the skin when we wash our face. It can change the pH value. Hydratonic neutralizes the calcium on the skin so that the pH value becomes more normal.

3) Cosmelan 2 cream
Extremely potent and active bleaching cream specially formulated to combat even the deepest pigment. The cream contains ingredients that are both depigmenting and regulate pigment production in the melanocytes. The bleaching cream can lighten the skin, but the skin cannot become paler than the surrounding skin.

Cosmelan 2 is used daily for 6 weeks after the treatment, morning and evening. Then for up to 12 months after the treatment – once a day in the evening. Remember Melan Recovery over the cream after approx. 5 minutes It is applied in a thin layer. Always remember to apply Melan 130+ Pigment Control, on top, during the day.

4) Melanin Recovery
This Intensive balm has a calming effect and creates balance in the skin, as the Cosmelan 2 cream is very active and potent. Pre-biotics and shea butter fight irritation and redness and give the skin immediate relief. Melan Recovery reduces the skin’s sensitivity and strengthens the skin’s defences.

5) Melan 130+ Pigment Control
This highly protective sunscreen contains UVA 67 and UVB 131 for maximum pigment control. The sunscreen combines both physical, chemical and biological filters with anti-ageing ingredients. Melan 130+ also protects against infrared radiation and the visible light (HEV) that comes from our computer screens, iPhones and tablets. The cream has a light colour, so it avoids turning white on the skin like traditional sun creams. The sunscreen contains Azeloglycine, which helps regulate melanin synthesis and prevents pigment spots from occurring. It is waterproof.

Used daily over the regular day cream – preferably 1/2 hour before sun exposure. Reapply every 2 hours if you are in the sun. It must be shaken before use.

How long is the downtime for the treatment?
The Cosmelan treatment itself is hard to get through to begin with. The skin may become dry, red and irritated in the first weeks. It is not uncommon for the skin to sting when Cosmelan 2 is applied to the skin in the first weeks. The skin may peel a bit at the start of the process. This is completely normal. The skin will quickly get used to the skin care products, after which the skin barrier will become stronger and it will begin to tolerate the products better.

The Cosmelan treatment works well on rough and oily skin, which drastically improves during the course of the treatment. Pimples and blackheads are reduced.

In 95% of cases, the pigment spots disappear after a course of Cosmelan peeling and the right products for use at home.

Already after 7-10 days after the peeling in the clinic, you will be able to see an improvement in the skin. A reduction in the size of the spots is achieved, the skin becomes more uniform and renewed.

After 7-8 weeks (and longer for darker skin types), the maximum result is achieved.

In rare cases, the skin can become overly irritated, which can result in an increased occurrence of pimples. Should this happen, you must contact the clinic or reduce the Cosmelan 2 cream.

Another rare side effect is allergic reaction, due to allergy to the fruit acids in the peeling. If you experience swelling of the face, you must pause the treatment and contact the clinic. Antihistamine will be able to make the swelling go down again.

In 5% of cases, the pigment can lie so deep in the skin (dermis) that there is nothing to stand up for.

As a bonus effect, Cosmelan reduces sebum and fat production, reduces pores and is highly effective for acne-prone skin with pigmentation.

Cosmelan also has an anti-aging effect on the skin, which will afterwards appear clear and more even.

How do I keep the result consistent?

Avoid the sun, use a sun hat and SPF 50 daily

As the pigment cells will be unstable for several years after the treatment, we recommend that you avoid the sun completely, use a sun hat and sunscreen with SPF50 daily. Just a few minutes of sun without sunscreen can increase the production of pigment again and the pigment spots can be restored.

If you are out in the sun, it is important that you apply Melan 130+ Pigment Control from Mesoestetic every 2 hours to prevent the pigment from returning.

We also recommend that you use Cosmelan 2 Crème from Mesoestetic as a night cream in the years to come, as it inhibits the pigment spots from coming back. At the same time, it has an anti-aging effect and improves both skin quality, skin structure and skin tone.

Am I suitable for Cryolipolysis ?

The ideal candidate for Cryolipolysis or “fat freezing” is someone who weighs slightly above their ideal weight and cannot get rid of stubborn deposits of fat. The ideal candidate should weigh no more than 10-15kg over their ideal weight. Fat freezing is not a weight loss treatment and does not replace the benefits of healthy diet and exercise. It is not a treatment for obesity.

What happens to the fat?

Cryolipolysis specifically hits the fat cells and lowers their temperature to -9 degrees, causing them to crystallize. The other structures in the body are not affected by this process. The remaining content of fat cells is naturally disposed of through the body’s lymphatic system. The results are documented, lasting and visible.

Which areas can be improved with Cryolipolysis ?

This treatment is best for stubborn areas that cannot be removed by changes in diet and exercise. Our therapists have experience that the inner thighs, lower abdominal region and loose fat at the waistline respond positively to this treatment. It is not uncommon for our therapists to use this technique in combination with other technologies so that you achieve the best result.

Are the results permanent?

Permanent. As long as you can maintain your weight and your normal diet and exercise habits, your long-term results should remain stable.

What can I expect from the treatment?

The result will be visible 2 to 6 weeks after treatment begins. The final result is measurable after approx. 12 weeks depending on the body’s metabolism. Our therapists will book you in for a follow-up appointment.

What will happen during treatment?

To protect the skin, a frost protection compress is placed on the treatment area. The skin is then sucked into a suction cup and the machine starts the targeted cooling process. You will experience a slight pulling of the skin and the area will feel cold. Within minutes, the area will feel numb. The device is on the area for 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the size of the area to be treated.

How does it work?

Micro-needling makes the columns for healing in the skin and induces the growth factor in order to derive the mechanism of natural recovery. Its effectiveness is similar to peeling, but its damage on epidermis is minimized. Thus, the treatment is safe as non-ablative treatment with minimal pain.

Direct RF emission on the target tissue by Fractional RF thermolysis (Thermal damage by segmented RF Emission) Effective delivery of valid ingredients through the expansion of intercellular route.

How long does the treatment take?

A treatment can take between 30 and 60 minutes, depending on the treatment area involved. This typically incudes a 20 min numbing period before the treatment can be performed.

What are the benefits?

There are numerous benefits in both the design and the treatment of micro needling fractional RF Technology.

With the Fractional Micro Needle RF System patients receive the ideal treatment so far innovated for deep tissue rejuvenation, skin lifting and tightening by means of minimally invasive micro-needles to deliver regulated pulses of radio frequency directly at various depths and uniform locations beneath the skin.

Adjustable penetration depth of the micro-needles can be achieved depending on the targeted tissue and type of condition being treated as well as its extent. It achieves remarkable results in terms of skin lifting, size reduction for pores, epidermal tightening and overall skin renewal. Collectively can treat numerous conditions in one session such as combined hyperpigmentation, atrophic scars, wrinkles, loose skin and acne marks. The treatment is minimally invasive. Hardly half an hour needed for the total procedure and downtime is comparatively tiny.

How long does recovery take?

This is very much dependent on the individual natural recovery and metabolic rate. We have seen that the face typically has a quicker recovery time compared to arms and stomach. However, this treatment has long term results so expect up to 1 week of recovery time.

What are the potential side effects?

Initially, minor side effects are to be expected from this procedure. These include redness, bruising, and inflammation. However, these should clear up within a few days.

During the first few days after your micro-needling procedure, you’ll want to avoid direct sun exposure and rigorous exercise. Exfoliants and alcohol-based skin products can also make side effects worse, so you should avoid these.

It’s also possible to experience acne breakouts after skin needling. However, these should be mild and clear up on their own. Avoid picking at your skin, as this can lead to further scarring.

Tanning or direct sun exposure can irritate your skin, making inflammation worse. Drinking plenty of water the day before and during the hours leading up your treatment can also reduce the chances of bruising and inflammation. You’ll also want to come to your appointment without any makeup on.

Unlike more invasive skin therapies, micro-needling is considered quick. Many people choose to go back to work the day after their treatment, depending on their side effects. You can apply a lightweight powder if you want to camouflage any bruises or redness.

Do I need to prepare anything in advance?

Prior to coming to the clinic, ensure your skin is clan and has no makeup. Clients are asked to apply numbing cream to the treatment area at least 20 mins before. This is usually dependent on individual pain threshold. As micro-needles are penetrated directly into the dermis, this can be a painful experience for some. However, with application of numbing cream the pain is dramatically decreased and the treatment becomes a fairly easy to administer and endure.

What to expect as post treatment?

Mild redness and swelling may occur a few hours and up to 24 hours after treatment. Massage and excessive sun exposure should be avoided at this time. More aggressive treatments may result in skin flaking as the new skin layer regenerates. Moisturizers and broad-spectrum sunscreens are highly recommended during this recovery phase.

Treatment Goals

RF energy once delivered into the deep layers of the dermis induces regenerative processes in the skin to begin. In 4 days needle marks will fade away completely and the swelling will subside in most patients while patients will begin to feel a noticeable difference in skin tone, smoothness and elasticity. So far, fractional RF micro-needle therapy is a great anti-ageing technique.

Who is an ideal candidate?

People who are suffering from acne scars, facial lines, wrinkles or tired and loose skin on their face due to age, genetics or lifestyle factors can get fractional RF MicroNeedle treatment to stimulate the natural body processes that make us look younger.

What does 1550 mean?

The handle with the wavelengths 1550

FRAX 1550 is suitable for skin structure such as fine lines, scars, coarse skin, stretch marks and general collagen stimulation. This revolutionary fractional technology (FRAX) produces thousands of small but deep heat columns in the skin. Since the laser is fractional, the skin will be heated in spots, which is a big advantage, as the downtime is less than if the whole skin were treated.

The heat columns start a process in the skin, where the skin will begin a regeneration process by forming growth and moisture factors as well as new collagen and elastin fibres.

The growth of collagen and elastin will improve fine lines, scars and stretch marks. Stimulation of newly formed moisture factors, such as hyaluronic acid, means that the skin will appear more hydrated and with a better glow.

The treatment is suitable for the face, neck and hands, but also elsewhere on the body. We recommend a treatment course of 3-5 treatments for an optimal improvement of the skin. A minimum of 6 weeks must pass between each treatment, so that the skin can regenerate between treatments.

If you are going to have surgery, we recommend a treatment with FRAX 1550 in the area 4 weeks before the operation and 1-2 treatments of the scar after the stitches have been removed. In this way, you achieve very fine and almost completely invisible scars.

How does the treatment work?

The treatment is tailored to your needs.

When you arrive at the clinic, we will start by cleansing the skin and applying a numbing cream that is 5 times stronger than Elma cream, which can be bought over the counter at the Pharmacy. The anesthetic cream must sit for approx. 1 hour before treatment.

At the clinic you will have the option of being provided over the counter pain relief such as Panodil and Ipren to reduce further discomfort during the treatment.

The practitioner assesses which of the above laser handles will give you the best result. The selected FRAX handle will then be moved over the skin approx. 4 times.

Each pass will produce thousands of heating zones in the skin.

The treatment feels prickly in the skin and may be associated with slight discomfort, but it will be tolerable.

Right after the treatment, the skin will feel warm and sunburned, which will subside within 24 hours. The skin will be moderately swollen the first day. Slight swelling can be seen for up to 2-4 days after the treatment.

How do I prepare for the treatment?

Consultation.

Before you can have a treatment with fractional laser, you must have a prior consultation with the clinic’s specially trained cosmetic nurse.

Here you will be asked about the concerns you have and what you want with the treatment. In dialogue with the therapist, we will find the optimal solution for you.

A good tip is also to write down any questions you have before you come to the consultation.

The consultation is non-binding and free of charge.

We recommend that you read about the treatment in our patient guide, which you can download here on this page.

Precautions

It is important that you do not show up for treatment with an outbreak of herpes.

How long is the down time?

You go to work the day after the treatment

Slight swelling can be seen for up to 2-4 days after the treatment. As a rule, you can go to work the day after the treatment itself, but we recommend making the treatment up to a weekend, as the slight swelling is visible in the first few days. It is not certain that others will notice, but you will be able to see it and probably prefer to be at home.

The skin will feel rough for approx. 4 days after treatment. You will probably experience an itchy sensation during the skin’s regeneration process in the days after the treatment.

After 5 days, the skin will be healed, but the skin may be delicately red for several weeks after the treatment. This means that the skin is working, and this is completely normal.

Dark discoloration of the epidermis will peel off.

Make-up can be used already the day after the treatment. However, it is not always that make-up will sit nicely on dry and peeling skin. Here you can advantageously use Mesoestetic Rapid Skin Repair cream which is specially made for use after laser treatments and peelings, where the skin may feel sensitive.

Use sunscreen SPF 50 every day.

It is important to use sunscreen every day after a treatment with FRAX. We recommend that you use a sunscreen with a high sun factor (SPF 50), as long as the skin is red and sensitive and when staying outdoors in the following months.

We highly recommend that you use Mesoestetics Melan130+ Pigment Control.

Generally speaking, we recommend that you use SPF 50 every day all year round to maintain the fine result and to prevent new damage to the skin.

You can use ordinary skin care products already the day after the treatment, as long as no scrubbing or abrasive agents, strong fruit acids and other exfoliants are used on the skin.

How do I take best care of my results?

Medical skin care optimizes the treatment result

To increase the results of the laser treatment, we recommend that after 7 days you use high-potency medical creams daily.

Research shows that a combination of Retinol, antioxidants and sunscreen can further increase collagen production, while preventing pigment spots and new damage to the skin.

We recommend the following products:

Exfoliating Products:

  • Obagi Nu-dermExfoderm (Normal hud)

  • Mesoestetic Brightening Peel Booster

  • Repairing Products:

  • Mesoestetics HA Densimatrix

  • Mesoestetics Skin Balance

How many treatments do I need?

We recommend a course of four treatments with a three-week interval cycle.  For best results, we recommend two courses annually.

Can I have other facial treatments during the course?

Yes, that’s fine and something we encourage, as other facial treatments will exfoliate dead skin cells and improve your skin health. If seeking other cosmetic treatments, a further consultation will be required.

How soon do you see results?

Most people see optimal results about 6 to 8 weeks after they’ve completed a full treatment series, though someone says they started seeing results after their first or second treatment.

Is VelaShape permanent?

No, VelaShape results aren’t permanent. You’ll need to maintain them with follow-up treatments at least every six months, and by exercising regularly and eating a healthy diet.

How to prepare for VelaShape III procedure?

  • Do not apply any creams, lotions, oils, or self-tanning products to the skin areas where you want to have the procedure performed.

  • 2-3 days before the procedure, avoid blood thinners, such as aspirin.

  • If there is hair in the area to be treated, it is recommended to remove them prior to the procedure.

  • It is recommended to drink more water during the treatment performance period to help the body eliminate metabolism products of fat cells.

  • If some other laser procedure has been performed in the areas where the current treatment is planned to be carried out, it is recommended to wait one week.

  • The procedure is not carried out for pregnant women; nursing mothers can have the procedure performed.

Is VelaShape safe?

The VelaShape treatment is safe and effective for all skin types and colors. There are no reported short-term or long-term side effects.

Does VelaShape help lose weight?

Velashape is ideal for reducing cellulite, but not intended for weight reduction. Velashape is however also FDA approved for circumferential reduction so you may see your clothes fit better after the treatment.

What happens after the last VelaShape session?

After a series of six sessions, the body adapts to the VelaShape treatments with a long-term effect of shrunken fat cells lasting for many months. Results improve with the maintenance of a healthy lifestyle which includes a healthy diet and exercise. Once a patient has undergone a treatment program of 6 sessions, periodic maintenance treatments can be performed to refresh the results.

Are there risks?

No. VelaShape III is the latest generation of VelaShape technology, based on science that has been proven both safe and effective for over 10 years. VelaShape III is a FDA cleared device that has passed stringent testing and approval. There are no risks from receiving VelaShape treatment. However, patients who have a pacemaker or defibrillator, patients who have recently had or plan to have a major surgery, patients who have just become pregnant/nursing or have just given birth, or patients who have just recovered from a major illness or injury may want to consult with their primary care physician about the best timing of their VelaShape treatments.

Are There Any Side Effects?

IPL for broken capillaries is a safe treatment when performed by a trained clinician. Most people do not experience any painful side effects, but you may notice your skin is red and more sensitive for a few days following treatment.

In rare cases, IPL can cause temporary swelling and blistering in the treated area. Some people also experience mild bruising following an IPL session.

Is There Any Downtime?

There is little to no downtime with IPL skin rejuvenation. The procedure is non-invasive and much gentler on the skin compared to other laser therapies.

You may experience a sensation similar to sunburn for up to 24 hours post-treatment, but you can immediately return to work and social activities. However, you should avoid sun exposure for a few days to allow your skin to regenerate and achieve optimal results.

How to Prepare for IPL for Broken Capillaries?

You should avoid sun exposure and anything that could irritate your skin in the week before your IPL session. Your clinician may also recommend that you stop taking any supplements or medication that could increase the risk of side effects.

Vitamin E supplements, products containing retinoids, and anti-inflammatory drugs like aspirin and ibuprofen can increase the risk of bruising. If you have a medical prescription that could affect the treatment, you should consult your doctor before stopping any medication.

Can Capillaries on Your Face Reappear after IPL Laser Treatment?

IPL destroys damaged cells that cause spider veins, so there is no chance of the same broken capillary reappearing. However, there is a chance that new broken capillaries do occur.

Following IPL for broken capillaries, it’s important that you take preventive action and adopt a good daily skincare regime to reduce the risk of new spider veins.

If you are prone to enlarged blood vessels, you may want to consider regular maintenance IPL sessions to help keep your skin looking bright and even-toned.

Who is suitable for the treatment?

The treatment is appropriate for healthy females over the age of 25 who are looking for vaginal rejuvenation. Clients who are breastfeeding or pregnant are not advised for the treatment.

What will UltraCel do for me?

  • Reduce sagging by tightening your skin, typically jowls & neck, and eyebrows.
  • Reduce fine lines & wrinkles.
  • Improve overall skin texture & tone.
  • Restore a youthful & smoother appearance.
  • Diminish large pores.
  • Treat acne & acne scarring.

How long does it last?

The results from these treatments are variable, depending on the original quality of the skin and degree of damage to be treated. Most will see a change immediately, with the final result evident from six months onwards.

Who is not suitable for this treatment?

ULTRAcel should be avoided if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. It is contraindicated if you have a pacemaker or implantable defibrillator (or certain metal implants). If the microneedling modality is being used this is not suitable if you are on blood thinners, have a bleeding disorder, certain cardiac problems, active skin infection or allergy to local anaesthetic cream.

What are the risks and potential side effects?

Depending on the treatment chosen by your and your medical professional, you can resume your normal daily routine the same day. Swelling and redness of the skin with the non-invasive treatments (GFR and FUS) can occur but is usually short-lived. After microneedling there will be redness of the skin that lasts 12-24 hours for most people, but can be present for up to a week depending on your current skin health and healing. Swelling and bruising are also common.

How is Thermage different from other wrinkle-reducing treatments?

Unlike other treatments, Thermage energy non-invasively penetrates into the innermost layers of the skin for complete skin rejuvenation. Involving no scissors and injections, Thermage re-builds collagen and delivers smooth and younger-looking skin with little to no downtime.

Is there any special preparation or follow-up?

No. Unlike surgery, there is no pre-procedure preparation such as blood work or fasting. And there is no special care required after treatment, aside from basic skin maintenance and sunscreens as part of a regular skincare regimen. Since Thermage FLX has little to no downtime, most patients return to their regular activities immediately following treatment. Some patients exhibit a temporary redness or minor swelling after treatment, and this usually goes away within 24 hours. If you have any concerns about your treatment, see your practitioner.

Does it hurt?

The Thermage® FLX system incorporates vibration on the face and body treatments, which has been shown to help aid in patient comfort. You’ll feel a brief heating sensation when the treatment device’s tip touches your skin, followed by a cooling sensation to help protect your skin and minimize any discomfort.

When will the results show?

Although some improvement is seen immediately in most patients, results will continue to improve gradually over the next 3 to 6 months. Since the effects are so gradual, the patient may not be aware of the extent of the improvement.

Can It Be Combined with Other Treatments?

As it is a multiple session treatment, and specifically formulated to tackle different signs of ageing in the under-eye area, Global Eyecon treatment shouldn’t be combined with any other under eye treatment. However, as downtime is minimal you may be able to have treatments to target other problems in other areas of the face and body during the six weeks when your sessions take place. Please speak to your clinician for the best advice on specific treatments during your consultation.

How Long Does It Take?

The six treatments are spread out over six weeks, with one treatment performed per week. Each treatment session lasts around 30 minutes.

What Does it Feel Like?

Most clients report no pain or discomfort. You may feel a warming session, but it is not unpleasant.

How Long Do the Results Last?

You will usually start to see results from your first session, which will become more noticeable with each subsequent treatment.

As well as significantly reduced pigmentation, wrinkles, and sagging, clients love the glow that Global Eyecon gives their skin.

How many treatments you require and whether you will need a top-up will depend on your skin and other factors mentioned above, such as sun exposure and genetic predispositions.

Are There Any Side Effects?

Other than slight redness around the eye, which should disappear after around 24 hours, Global Eyecon treatment does not usually cause any side effects. However, with any microneedling procedure, it is possible to experience itching, and even slight pinpoint marks. These symptoms should fade with around 24-48 hours

Global Eyecon Treatment Downtime& Aftercare

Restylane vital – for older skin

Restylane Vital is primarily used if you have fine lines and wrinkles that also need moisture. Restylane Vital gives a bit of fullness to the skin, which is why it is especially good for older thin and wrinkled skin. Restylane Vital is often made as a cure for 2-3 treatments with an interval of 4 weeks.

Restylane vital light – for the delicate skin areas

Restylane Vital Light is used for the very delicate areas of the face such as lines around the eyes. Restylane Vital Light is often made as a cure for 2-3 treatments with an interval of 2-4 weeks.

Juvéderm volite – for young skin

Juvéderm Volite is a new and innovative skin booster that is used to improve skin quality and glow. Juvéderm Volite contains large amounts of hyaluronic acid, which improves the smoothness of the skin, minimises fine lines, wrinkles and scars. At the same time, the elasticity and hydration of the skin increases markedly. It is best suited for the young skin. Juvéderm Volite requires only one treatment!

After treatment

After the treatment, the skin will be slightly red due to the many fine stings in the skin. There is also a risk of small bruises as well as some swelling. According to clinical studies, 95% of patients were able to return to social engagements one day after treatment.

You can apply makeup and cream 6 hours after the treatment and wait until days after.

The result is seen after a few weeks

The result after the skin booster treatment is only seen a few weeks after the treatment itself. This is because the old, gray and dead skin cells must first fall off the skin before the new, healthy and moisture-boosted skin cells reach the skin surface.

After 2-4 weeks, the skin quality will be visibly improved – with an increased moisture balance, minimised fine lines and scars, better glow and radiance as well as increased elasticity.

A skin booster treatment has a long-lasting effect

The difference between skin booster treatments and mesotherapy is that mesotherapy is typically based on a cocktail of vitamins and hyaluronic acid, where the hyaluronic acid molecules are not cross-linked. That is, the effect of mesotherapy is very short-lived – perhaps only a week. Therefore, skin booster treatments are clearly preferable as the effect is long lasting.

After treatment, what needs to be paid attention?

Spicy food, sea food, smoking and drinking should be avoided. Furthermore, the use of cosmetics should be avoided for 3 days.

Can skin tags grow back?

Why do shockwaves have so many programs?

For two reasons. Shockwave works at the cellular level and triggers reactions, such as stimulating your cells to help the body heal itself. Second, shockwave therapy has a common term for several types of treatments – focused shockwave, radial pressure waves and vibration therapy. These seem almost the same but slightly different, which means that shockwave therapy can treat all sorts of conditions.

Non-surgical solutions to persistent problems

Shockwave Therapy, or Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT), is a non-invasive technology that delivers sound waves to afflicted areas of the body and aids recovery. Shockwave has become widely accepted in clinical practice for the treatment of chronic soft tissue injuries.Whether your injury, pain or chronic condition has been caused by the wear and tear of daily activities, exercise, pregnancy, ageing or accidents, musculoskeletal disorders and soft tissue injuries can be debilitating. Many people think that surgery is the only answer but are worried about taking such a risky step. At Derma Solution we take a low-impact, non-surgical route, which allows for speedy recovery.

Clinically proven

Shockwave Therapy is clinically proven, recognised by the top orthopaedic hospitals and used by high profile professional sports bodies.

What are shockwaves?

Shock waves are high-energy, audible sound waves which are transmitted to the affected area to accelerate healing by increasing blood flow, putting cells into repair mode. Shockwave has an analgesic effect and stimulates repair and regeneration.

Radial Shockwave v’s Focused Shockwave Therapy

Shockwaves can be either focused or radial. Focused shock waves are used in the treatment of deeper areas approx. 5cm. Radial shockwaves target conditions nearer the surface of the body. Your therapist will decide the best for you depending on your condition.

Is Shockwave Therapy ESWT safe?

Yes. It has NICE guidance for a large number of indications. Shockwave Therapy performed by qualified therapists is a largely risk-free and side-effect-free method of treating musculoskeletal conditions and chronic pain.

Is Shockwave painful?

Focused Shockwave is not painful at all. You should feel that something is happening but it is more of a sensation. Radial Shockwave you may feel slight discomfort to begin with. However, the treatment is delivered with a low amount of energy at first, which is increased as you get used to it. Shockwave Therapy creates an analgesic effect, many patients report an immediate relief following shockwave therapy. If you experience pain after treatment you may use ordinary prescription-free pain killers. Do not use anti-inflammatory medication or apply ice on the treated area as both may interfere with the body’s self-healing process.

What conditions can be treated?

  • Achilles tendon and heel – Achilles Tendonitis, Plantar Fasciitis (heel spur)
  • Knee and shin – Patellar Tendonitis (Jumper’s Knee), Tibial edge syndrome (shin splints)
  • Elbow and Arm – Forearm muscles, Epicondylitis (tennis or golfer elbow)
  • Shoulder and Neck – Periarticular shoulder pain, Chronic neck and shoulder pain, Tendinosis Calcarea (calcific tendinitis)
  • Back – Lumbalgia (lumbago), Dorsalgia (chronic back pain)
  • How many sessions are needed, how long does it take?
  • The treatment lasts between five and ten minutes, depending on the condition. On average six sessions are required. You will require a full assessment todetermine the number of treatments you will need.

How successful is the treatment?

It depends on the condition. Statistics show over 90 percent of patients experience a reduction in their pain. The overall success rates for all indications ranges between 60% to 80% depending on the conditions treated.

Can Shockwave treat old/persistent injuries, or is it only for new problems?

It can treat both long term chronic conditions and newer injuries, there is a great deal of evidence to show that Shockwave can achieve great results even with historical conditions.

What does Shockwave Therapy cost?

A full consultation with an trained therapist is recommended.

Radio Frequency Skin Tightening Overview

The effects of radio frequency treatments are mostly attributable to the heat that is generated by the RF waves. In the field of skin care and ant-ageing treatments, RF waves are most commonly used for facial rejuvenation and their ability to stimulate the protein fibers that keep the skin elastic. During treatment, the RF waves penetrate the skin to tighten it from the inside out, as they stimulate collagen fibroblast production, which will trigger the production of fresh collagen fibers which result in tighter, more taught skin which is demonstrably younger.

What to Expect During an RF Skin Tightening Treatment?

Our practitioners will require you wash your face with a mild soap and warm water before you arrive for your treatment, as it is important that no excess oils or cosmetics remain on the skin that might reduce the effectiveness of the procedure. When treatment begins, a numbing cream may be applied to the skin and then allowed to sit until it takes effect. It will then be removed, and the skin care specialist will target the treatment area by focusing on parts of the area at a time so that the treatment is focused and that no other skin is accidentally affected.

An ultrasonic gel will then be applied to the skin before the RF waves are delivered to the skin. Depending on the sensitivity of your skin, you may feel a heated sensation during treatment, but the side effects of the treatment are believed to be minimal for most patients.

When the treatment is over, our practitioner will apply a topical cooling gel to the treated area to minimize discomfort.

Radio Frequency Skin Tightening Side Effects

You may experience some redness and swelling in the treated area after a radio frequency skin tightening procedure, but these symptoms should resolve themselves within 24-48 hours. Misting the face with cool water may help to reduce the irritation, although you should ensure that only clean, purified water is used for these purposes. Some patients have reported sinking of the skin in the treated area, but this has mostly occurred with intense RF treatments. In most cases, these treatments have a low instance of side effects and are considered a viable anti-ageing treatment for a wide array of skin types.

Who is it suitable for?

Anyone, male or female, who wishes to remove wrinkles and lines from the facial area. The radio frequency facial is suitable for all skin types.

How Many Treatments of Are Recommended?

2 to 6 treatments delivered on a bi-weekly basis is recommended for most clients depending on desired results and skin area.  It is important to book in for a complimentary consultation to get the correct assessment of the area you want to have treated.

What Results Can I Expect from RF Treatment?

Results are often immediate; however, a course of treatments are recommended as results improve after each treatment.

What Will I Experience from This Treatment?

RF is a relaxing treatment with little or no discomfort.  Ultrasonic gel will be applied to the skin which acts as a conductor for the RF energy.  A hand piece will be placed onto the skin and moved in circular motions.  Our machinery will emit a slight beeping noise as the hand piece gets warmer, building slowly until it reaches 40 degrees. Periodically your therapist will use an infrared thermometer to measure the heat of the skin.  Once the temperature has built to 40 degrees your therapist will continue to maintain the heat, continuing treatment on the area for 2 to 4 minutes.

The treatment gives a natural and aesthetic result that lasts up to a year.

Durability depends on the following factors:

– Blood circulation of the skin

– The body’s degradability

– How much movement there is in the treatment area

The result in the lips often lasts for 8-12 months. In the cheekbone area and under the eyes, the result can last for up to 2 years. The shelf life depends on the area treated. Follow-up treatments extend the shelf life.

What is the difference between Botox and Restylane?

Botox (Botulinum Toxin) is injected into the muscles under the skin, with Restylane being injected into the skin itself. Restylane is a sugar that is biocompatible with our natural hyaluronic acid that we have in the body. Botox is a micro-dose toxin (botulinum toxin type A) that blocks the nerve signals. The toxin is formed by the bacterium Clostridium Botulinum. Restylane fills in wrinkles, while Botox relaxes certain muscles in the face, temporarily reducing wrinkles.

What do I need to do before treatment?

  1. You must be consulted by one of our cosmetic nurses at least 48 hours before the treatment.
  2. You should avoid eating fish oils, Ibuprofen, Aspirin (Sedatives), Treo or drinking alcohol before treatment as it increases the risk of bruising.
  3. Take a bath from the morning, put your hair up if it is long and come without make-up.

Treatment with Restylane

At the consultation, we have selected the filler to be used for your treatment. When you come to get the treatment, we start by applying an anaesthetic cream on the selected area.

The skin is then thoroughly disinfected. You are now ready to be treated. Restylane is injected into the skin using an ultra-thin needle. Restylane contains lidocaine, which is an anaesthetic. The local anaesthetic increases comfort and minimises discomfort during the injection treatment. Restylane is integrated with the tissue under the skin, ensuring a natural look.

After the treatment, the skin will react

Reactions to the treatment such as redness, swelling and itching can occur either immediately or later and can last for up to a week. Immediately after treatment with non-permanent filler, the skin will usually react with mild to moderate swelling, redness and tenderness as well as bruising. Some experience pain, tingling in the skin and itching. These reactions often disappear within a few days. The lips swell relatively much, and therefore most people do not want to go to work immediately after treatment of lips. Tenderness is experienced especially when treating the chin, temples and cheekbones.

Pay special attention to:

  • Do not touch the treated area for the first 6 hours to avoid infection.
  • Do not apply make-up and cream for the first 6 hours.
  • Do not exercise hard for the first 24 hours after treatment.
  • You must be exposed to high temperatures (sauna, steam bath, direct sunlight, solarium, etc.) for the first 24 hours, as it increases the risk of swelling and bruising gets worse.

Does the treatment hurt?

Before the injection treatment, we apply a local anaesthetic cream on sensitive areas such as the lips. In the Restylane product itself, local anaesthetic in the form of lidocaine has been added, which also helps to reduce pain and discomfort. If you are worried about the pain, remember to tell your doctor before the treatment so that it can be taken into account.

As a rule, you only notice a few short-lived dots. Both before and after Restylane treatment, it is important that you put ice on the area to minimise discomfort and to reduce the risk of swelling and bruising.

Is Restylane Safe?

Yes, it is safe when the treatment is performed correctly. Thorough disinfection of the treatment area before and after treatment is important to reduce the risk of inflammation. In addition, we only treat with small amounts at a time. This is to avoid any knots in the tissue.

Hyaluronic acid is already naturally present in the skin, and Restylane is made up of hyaluronic acid, so the skin does not react to it. Therefore, a treatment is completely safe. Millions of people have been treated with Restylane and very few side effects have been reported, such as redness, swelling, itching and soreness. Immediately after a treatment you will experience a bit of swelling and redness in the treated area. It is a normal reaction after a filler treatment. Usually, the swelling and redness disappear after a few days.

Side effects often disappear after a few days

Typically, there are not many side effects with a filler treatment. The most common side effects are bruising, redness, soreness and swelling, which usually disappear after a few days.

Precautions

In the case of herpes outbreaks, we do not recommend treatment with non-permanent filler, as the virus can spread further. We also do not treat people who have an infection in the body or have untreated dental problems.

What is a facial filler?

A facial filler is a man-made product that is injected into or deep to the skin, to smooth out creases and folds and to reshape the face by restoring volume. It is a soft transparent jelly. There are different types of filler on the market, made from different chemicals. Some are permanent and others temporary.

What is a non-surgical eye-lift / tear trough treatment?

Tear trough treatment is the injection of Restylane filler into the tear trough to fill the groove and smooth the junction between the eyelid and the cheek. The product is injected deep to the skin and muscle over the bony orbital rim. The tear trough is a groove that develops between the eyelid and the cheek. It occurs because of loss of fat just beneath the skin and is accentuated by orbital fat above it bulging forwards. Eyebags is a common term for these signs of aging in the lower eyelid.

Who should not have treatment?

If you are or think you may be pregnant. If you are breast feeding. If you have an active skin condition like: eczema, psoriasis, herpes simplex (coldsore), herpes zoster (shingles), infection. Roaccutane treatment in the last year. If you suffer from keloid scarring. Previous allergy to a dermal filler. If you have recently had another dermal filler at the same injection site. Skin resurfacing (chemical or laser) within 6 weeks. Current medical illness. People with unreasonable expectations of treatment. Recent sun or sunbed exposure (treatment may proceed once redness has gone from the skin)

How many treatments will I need and how often?

Your treatment plan will depend on many factors such as the location, depth, size and type of pigmentation. Some lesions will require several treatments for optimal results, where some can be resolved in a single treatment. On average, patients will need 2-3 sessions for complete removal. Subsequent treatments can be scheduled for four weeks after your treatment.

How often can treatments be performed?

The frequency of your pigmentation removal appointments will be based on clinical judgment. For most patients, treatment will be performed every 4 – 8 weeks.

Are the results permanent?

Pigmented lesions that have been removed will not return after your laser treatments. However, various factors such as aging, changes in hormone levels or UV exposure can stimulate new hyperpigmentation. Laser pigmentation removal treatments do not prevent new hyperpigmentation from occurring.

How does the GeneO+™ oxygenate skin?

GeneO+™ capitalizes on the Bohr Effect that was discovered by Christian Bohr in 1904. The effect indicates that when the C02 (Carbon dioxide) concentration increases, the haemoglobin releases oxygen from within. The GeneO+™ interaction between the Capsugen™ capsule and the treatment gel creates abundance of C02 on the skin that triggers the Bohr Effect that oxygenate the skin naturally. Oxygenating the skin is beneficial in all anti-aging and corrective skin procedures.

How does the Ultrasound technology work?

The process causes small spaces to open between skin cells resulting in increased penetration of ingredients. In addition, ultrasound improves absorption of active ingredients via increased cellular metabolism and blood circulation, improves moisture retention, tightens enlarged pores and relieves puffiness around the eyes.

How does the GeneO+™ feel?

An GeneO+™ treatment feels like a massage for the face. The exfoliation is described as very refreshing and comfortable and, because there is no vacuum procedure (like with other facial devices) the overall treatment is more soothing and relaxing. Many clients fall asleep and wake feeling rested and rejuvenated. More sensitive skin type clients may have a warm sensation on the skin during the first part of the treatment.

Can my client have an GeneO+™ treatment if they have acne?

Yes. Because the exfoliation isn’t irritating and because the GeneO+™ is a non-vacuum device, you can treat areas of the face affected by simple acne.

What should my client expect to see and feel after GeneO+™ treatment?

After the GeneO+™ treatment the skin is rich with oxygen and nutrients. It will look smooth, soft, shiny and radiant. The skin feels fresh, soft and active. GeneO+™ treatments continue to produce results even after the client leaves your office.

How frequent can my clients have GeneO+™ treatment?

The process causes small spaces to open between skin cells resulting in increased penetration of ingredients. In addition, ultrasound improves absorption of active ingredients via increased cellular metabolism and blood circulation, improves moisture retention, tightens enlarged pores and relieves puffiness around the eyes.

Can my clients have GeneO+™ treatment to look better before an event?

Yes! The GeneO+™ treatment has no downtime and the skin looks and feels great right after the treatment. If there is an upcoming event, schedule the GeneO+™ treatment on the same day or a day before and the effect will be well visible during the event

What is better for my client, the NeoBright™ or NeoRevive™?

This depends on skin type and skin condition. If you have pigmented lesions (dark spots) or dark skin, most probably the NeoBright™ will be the right choice. If you want to improve the overall appearance of the skin and reduce pores, the NeoRevive™ could be better and/or combination of the two.

What is the difference between the GeneO™ and infusion technologies that use vacuum?

There is a significant difference between technologies that are whisking product across the skin and the GeneO+™ enriched product that is layered over the entire face and is left on the face during the exfoliation and infusion process. Firstly, the oxygenation process causes enriched blood to come to the surface of the skin all over the face, not just where the small vacuum tip is applied as with other technologies. This enriched blood is the transport system of the skin cells. The product is applied to the entire face and worked into the exfoliated skin for a prolonged period of time. The product has plenty of time to be absorbed over the entire face where the enriched blood carries it off to feed cells and provided the wanted benefits. Previous Dermal Infusion technologies had to work with a watered-down product so that product would flow, and wouldn’t be obstruct the tubes. The GeneO+™ products are enriched with Hyaluronic Acid, Peptides, antioxidants etc. and can be produced in optimum concentration as it is applied directly to the skin.

When will I see the results after having laser hair removal?

You will likely see the results immediately after treatment. The results vary from patient to patient. The color and thickness of your hair, area treated, type of laser used, and color of your skin all affect the results. You can expect a 10% to 25% reduction in hair after the first treatment.

To remove the hair, most patients need 2 to 6 laser treatments. After finishing the treatments, most patients do not see any hair on the treated skin for several months or even years. When the hair regrows, there tends to be less of it. The hairs also tend to be finer and lighter in color.

How long will the results of laser hair removal last?

Most patients remain hair free for months or even years. When some of the hair regrows, it will likely be less noticeable. To keep the area free of hair, a patient may need maintenance laser treatments.

What are the possible side effects?

The most common side effects are minor and last 1 to 3 days. These side effects include:

  • Discomfort

  • Swelling

  • Redness

Other possible side effects are rare when laser hair removal is performed by a dermatologist or under the dermatologist’s direct supervision. Other possible side effects include:

  • Blistering

  • Herpes simplex (cold sores) outbreaks

  • Infections

  • Scarring

  • Skin lightening or darkening

In time, skin color tends to return to normal. Some changes to skin color, however, are permanent. This is why seeing a medical doctor who is skilled in laser treatments and has in-depth knowledge of the skin is so important.

It is also important to follow your dermatologist’s instructions. Following both the before-treatment instructions and after-treatment instructions will greatly reduce your risk of side effects.

When is it safe to have another laser treatment for hair removal?

This varies from patient to patient. Removing hair often requires a series of laser treatments. Most patients can have laser hair removal once every 4 to 6 weeks. Your dermatologist will tell you when it is safe to have another treatment.

Most patients see some hair regrowth. Your dermatologist can tell you when you can safely have laser treatments to maintain the results.

What must I do after getting laser hair removal?

To avoid possible side effects, all patients need to protect their skin from the sun. After laser hair removal, you should:

  • Avoid direct sunlight from hitting your treated skin.

  • Not use a tanning bed, sun lamp, or any other indoor tanning equipment.

  • Follow your dermatologist’s after-care instructions.

You will see some redness and swelling after treatment. This often looks like a mild sunburn. Applying a cool compress can help reduce your discomfort.

Does it treat skin pigmentation?

As well as being able to reduce cellulite and wrinkles, Mesotherapy can also treat skin pigmentation caused by an over or under production of melanin. These are miss-coloured areas of skin that resemble a large freckle. They are also sometimes referred to as age spots or liver spots.

What are the Benefits of Micro Mesotherapy?

What does the treatment involve?

Multiple microcrystalline are administered to the problem area.

Does it hurt?

You may feel a slight pinching or burning sensation; however, we can provide a topical anaesthetic that makes the treatment relatively painless for most patients.

What will my skin look like afterwards?

A common side effect is mild swelling or bruising which generally resolves in one week for most patients.

How long before I see results?

On average, patients notice a visible improvement within 2-3 sessions. However, everyone is unique so you may see results a bit earlier or later. Results are usually maintained with twice-yearly touch up sessions.

What are the risks and complications?

All non-invasive procedures carry a small amount of risk which is why they are only administered after a face-to-face consultation with one of our practitioners during which a full assessment will be carried out and a full list of cautions and contraindications discussed.

How does the treatment work?

The light from the laser is absorbed in several places in the skin

Melanin

The light is absorbed in the skin’s pigment melanin, after which the light is converted into heat. The heat destroys pigment spots and sun damage, so the colour is broken down into smaller colour grains.

It is the same principle that we know from tattoo removal. The damaged pigment will then penetrate the epidermis, after which it will peel off after 4-7 days. The skin will become uniform and look younger.

Haemoglobin

The laser light is also absorbed in the haemoglobin in the blood. Here, the laser light will again be converted into heat.

This heat removes superficial vascular ruptures, diffuse redness, heals red scars from e.g. acne, while reducing the acne bacteria on the skin.

Who is a candidate for laser skin rejuvenation?

The treatment is suitable for men and women of all ages.

You must not have dark skin and you must not have been in the sun for 4 weeks prior to the treatment.

You must be over 18 years of age to be treated with laser, unless there is a medical indication for it.

How do I prepare for the treatment?

Prior consultation

Before you can have skin rejuvenation with a laser, you must have a statutory prior consultation with the clinic’s specially trained cosmetic nurse. Here you will be asked about the concerns you have and what you want with the treatment. In dialogue with the therapist, we will find the optimal solution for you.

The consultation is non-binding and free of charge.

Consideration period

There is no requirement for reflection time, and the consultation can therefore be held in connection with your first treatment.

Written patient instructions

We recommend that you read about the treatment in our patient guide, which you can download here on this page.

Precautions before treatment

It is important that your skin is as fair as possible before the treatment, and that you have not been in the sun for at least one month before the laser treatment. Sun exposure within a month can cause a superficial burn.

We also recommend coming without new self-tanner and make-up.

If you are sensitive to pain, you can take 1 gram of Panodil one hour before the treatment.

How long is the downtime for treatment?

After the laser treatment, it is normal to feel warm and red in the skin.

Some will find that it resembles a sunburn. The redness and tingling sensation will subside after an hour.

The peeling will take place between 4-7 days after the treatment

The pigment spots will darken for a few days after the treatment. Some feel that it looks like they have coffee grounds on their face. This is the pigment that pulls up the top layer of skin and prepares for peeling. The peeling will take place between 4 -7 days after the treatment. It is only the pigment spot itself that peels off. You can easily go to work the day after the treatment.

Avoid the sun for at least 4 weeks and use a high sun protection factor

After a laser treatment, you must avoid the sun for a minimum of 4 weeks and use a high sun protection factor, as the pigment spots can return and, in the worst case, get worse. For this reason, we recommend laser treatments in the winter months.

In the first 2 years after the treatment, we recommend avoiding the sun, using a sun hat and SPF 50, as sun damage easily reoccurs. Alternatively, the treatment must be repeated in the autumn.

How many treatments should I have?

A single treatment may be enough

For some, a single treatment may be sufficient for the desired result. The majority can see a difference after just one treatment. However, it is very dependent on the actual starting point for the treatment.

We usually recommend 3 treatments 3 – 4 weeks apart to achieve the best result. We recommend that you combine this treatment with skin care products from Mesoestetics.

Do lash lifts ruin your eyelashes?

No, lash lifts should not damage your lashes. Even if you end up with a lash lift that goes a little wrong, the effects of the procedure are only semi-permanent.

Eyelashes naturally fall out and regrow every 4 to 6 weeks, so you won’t have to worry about damaging your lashes long term.

How long does a lash lift and tint last?

Depending on the type of lash lift you choose and your aftercare, a lash lift should last from 4 to 6 weeks. In some cases, you may find that the effects last for just over 6 weeks.

What’s the best type of lash lift?

It all depends on what kind of procedure and look you want.

With a keratin lift, you’ll get a more natural, lifted look, while an LVL lash lift will usually result in a thicker, more dramatic look.

Will I look natural?

To get natural-looking results, the person injecting the filler must have expertise in placing the filler.

Dermatologists recommend not overdoing fillers. Your results will look more natural with a conservative approach. For example, patients who have very thin lips should not get dramatically fuller lips. Creating fuller lips in these patients could be extremely unflattering because the lips might start to resemble a duck’s bill.

What to expect after a cosmetic injection with hyaluronic acid?

The treatment takes about 30 minutes and the effects can last 6-8 months. After this period, the injected hyaluronic acid will dissolve into the body.

Following procedures with hyaluronic acid fillers, you may notice some bruising, swelling, or redness of the skin around the injection site. These minimal side effects will fade from the treated area after a few days.
Excess sun exposure, solariums, and saunas should be avoided on the skin for one week after your treatment.

Are there any side effects?

The most common side effects occur within 24 hours or immediately post-treatment. These include swelling, bruising, redness, and tenderness, immediate side effects usually disappear within days.

Are dermal fillers safe?

Yes. We use only products with a proven safety record. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a substance that occurs naturally in the skin cells; thus, there is no risk of allergic reactions. Even people with food sensitivities can receive these fillers safely. The brands of fillers we use are available in more than 90 countries. They have been used as an injectable cosmetic treatment for over two decades with an excellent safety record.

Are there any aftercare instructions?

After your treatment, we will again go through with you any aftercare advice to maximize your treatment benefits and avoid any undesirable side effects.

You can resume normal activities, drive home, or return to work immediately after the treatment.

As with any injection, there may be some slight redness immediately afterwards. Camouflage makeup may be applied.

The results directly after the treatment should be seen as something other than the final results. This is because the results will gradually improve over the following 2 weeks.

For 2 weeks after the treatment, you are advised to avoid extreme heat (sun bed or sunbathing) or intense cold.

How Often Can I Have A HydraFacial?

As often as every week, depending on the condition being treated. Your practitioner will advise you on the best treatment plan for your individual skin concern. For best results, regular treatments are recommended.

Are There Any Side Effects For HydraFacial?

How does it work?
HIFU stands for ‘High Intensity Focused Ultrasound’. During this treatment, ultrasound energy is used to stimulate the deep layers which support the skin. In doing so it creates a lifted, tauter appearance and stimulates the body to produce collagen.

Who is suitable for treatment?
The ideal candidate for HIFU is for a person who is mildly above ideal weight, and cannot shift stubborn pockets of fat.  HIFU is ideal for sculpting larger areas, and the candidate should be within 10-15kg of their ideal weight range.  HIFU is not a weight loss treatment and does not replace the benefits of proper diet and exercise. It does not treat obesity.

How many treatments of HIFU body sculpting are recommended?
Generally, anywhere between 2 to 4 treatments per area are recommended, however many clients see results after a single treatment.  It is important to come in for a thorough assessment so our aesthetician can customize a specific plan designed for you and your goals.

Are the results permanent?
Permanent, as long as you maintain your weight with your normal diet and exercise, your long-term results should remain stable.

What results can I expect from this treatment?
Results can be seen from 2 to 4 months’ post treatment. The average permanent fat reduction of the treatment area after just one single session is typically 2 to 4cm. It’s important to note that these treatments continue to work after you have visited the clinic, as they work on your body’s own natural elimination process.

Can I combine HIFU Fat Reduction with other treatments?
Our HIFU fat reduction treatment is best for targeting larger stubborn pockets of fat, however if you wish to have more of an overall fat reduction treatment your therapist may recommend combining your HIFU body treatment as part of a treatment course incorporating other technologies for a more complete fat reduction treatment. Deluxe Skin has specific technology that can be combined to enable you to target your needs and devise a specific and bespoke treatment plan for you ensuring maximum results.

What can be treated using HIFU Body Sculpting?

A number of areas can be treated including:

  • Abdominal Region
  • Flanks
  • Inner Thighs
  • Outer Thighs
  • Buttocks
  • Arms
  • AroundKnee

What will I experience during my treatment?
A hand piece will be placed on the skin; this is the hand piece used to target focused energy to the fat cells. The hand piece is placed on the area of treatment and held there for approximately 2 minutes; this will be repeated 3 times per treatment area. During treatment, you may feel the warmth of the hand piece, and in some cases, it may get slightly hot and uncomfortable. You may also feel a slight vibration and tingling sensation, although this is completely normal.

Does it hurt?

Most people do not report pain. There can be slight aching over bony areas or a warm sensation in the skin during treatment.

Is it safe?
Thousands of treatments have been performed worldwide using HIFU technology without significant adverse events. In addition, ultrasound energy has been used safely in the field of medicine for more than 50 years.

Is HIFU Body Sculpting classed as surgery?
No. While the ultrasound treatment does target the deep layer of skin often addressed in surgery, it does not involve general anaesthetic or cutting the skin in any way

How long does the treatment take?
Between 30-90 minutes, depending on area to be treated.

Is there any downtime?
There is normally no downtime or recovery time needed. Most people return to normal activities right away.

Are there any side effects?
There may be slight redness following the treatment. A small number of patients report swelling, tingling or tenderness to touch.

Care and Maintenance?

This treatment may prevent the need for hair transplant surgeries and other expensive and painful alternatives. However, for optimum results, the patient should maintain a healthy diet, eliminate the intake of junk food and toxins, and follow a regular fitness regimen.

Hair mesotherapy is a non-surgical process involving injecting medicines into the scalp to boost hair growth. Using mesotherapy for hair growth helps restore hair by increasing microcirculation on the scalp, slowing down the follicle shrinkage, and providing the essential nutrients.

How long does the treatment last?

The duration of the treatment depends on the individual, but on average, you will need the therapy for about four months, once a week.

The treatment usually spans eight sessions, one every week, for half an hour each. One must be patient and composed while undergoing this treatment as visible results are only observed after the fifth session.

Of course, once your body starts responding to the treatment, the duration and frequency of the treatment will be reduced.

Is There Any Pain During the Procedure?

Yes. Pain is the main disadvantage of mesotherapy. However, it all depends on the individual pain threshold. Occiput (back of the head) and ear area are the most sensitive areas to injections. After mesotherapy, you cannot wash your hair, go to the pool and steam rooms for 4 days to avoid complications and discomfort. It is also worth stopping the procedure during the menstrual period, as the pain will be felt much stronger during this period. Important: Whether the pain is felt depends on the pain threshold of the patient.

Is mesotherapy for hair permanent?

No, the results are not permanent. The microinjections stimulate the mesoderm, but the results will stop once the body has broken it down.

Precautions before or after the treatment.

While there isn’t very high maintenance post-procedure care required after undergoing mesotherapy for hair, there are a few things to keep in mind once you’ve gotten the treatment. First of all, you need to avoid sun exposure (especially direct to the scalp) after the treatment, since contact with the sun can cause allergic reactions. Our advice for post-procedure care is also super helpful, don’t wash your hair on the same day. And definitely don’t apply any hair colour prior to the treatment, or after the procedure too.

Apart from that, take note of any allergic reactions that occur after the treatment since being even a little careless can land you in a whole world of trouble. Avoid alcohol for the next 48 hours, and if your doctor’s recommended any creams for post-procedure care, be sure to take them!

While the procedure may seem intimidating, it’s actually not that scary since it’s non-invasive and easy to carry out. Patients who undergo mesotherapy for hair regrowth generally experience minimal pain and barely any discomfort, especially compared to surgical procedures, thus making it an easy solution to get rid of excessive hair fall. It’s a great procedure if you want to improve the quality and health of your hair as well, and you can be assured that if you do decide to go for it, it’ll give you the desired results.
