Restylane

Restylane was one of the first fillers on the market and the first filler to be FDA approved in the United States. It consists of hyaluronic acid – a sugar – which is already found naturally in the skin. Unfortunately, the amount of hyaluronic acid in the body decreases as we get older.

A treatment with Restylane makes it possible to restore a natural appearance by rebuilding moisture and volume in the skin. Get a revitalized look with Restylane. Book a consultation with one of our experienced cosmetic nurses.

Biocompatible with our natural hyaluronic acid

The amount of hyaluronic acid in the body decreases as we age. The skin slowly loses its elasticity, elasticity and not least moisture. A treatment with Restylane makes it possible to restore a natural appearance by rebuilding moisture and volume in the skin. Many people especially choose this treatment, as hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that is biocompatible with our natural hyaluronic acid.

At Derma Solution, we take pride in ensuring a natural and aesthetic result. We make you look like you were born with good genes. The result is a revitalised look.

Treatment for wrinkles and loss of fullness

With age, our skin stops producing the connective tissue fibres collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. These fibres are essential for keeping the skin hydrated, firm and elastic.

As collagen and elastin production decreases, the skin loses its volume and begins to sag, while wrinkles become deeper and more prominent. This can lead to us looking older and more tired.

At Derma Solution, we are committed to restoring the natural beauty in a subtle way that produces one’s natural facial features without it becoming unnatural. All nurses have experience in cosmetic treatments.

Restylane is a great filler to remove wrinkles and fine lines in both men and women. Restylane lifts wrinkles up to skin level, that way we can correct smoke wrinkles, wrinkled skin and fine lines. A treatment helps your skin and facial features to become the best version of yourself.

 How does Restylane work?

The product is injected into the skin to restore volume. Restylane works with the body's own production of hyaluronic acid to restore volume. The treatment will stimulate the skin's own production of collagen, so wrinkles are reduced even more.

The result of a treatment is already seen immediately after. The full result can only be seen up to 2 weeks after treatment and lasts for about a year.

Whether you want a Restylane treatment to give full lips or to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, this filler treatment is relatively quick. It only takes half an hour.

Who can use Restylane?

Restylane is a versatile product that can be used for the following:

  • Women and men with all skin types
  • People of all ages, however, must be 18 years of age or older
  • Face, neck, hands and décolleté
  • Anyone who wants to improve their skin quality, for example by scars after acne or sun-damaged skin.

Exceptions:

  • You must not be pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • You must also not have inflammation of the skin.
  • You must not have an infection in your mouth. *
  • You must have herpes in outbreaks.

* Avoid dental visits 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after treatment

How long does Restylane last?

The treatment gives a natural and aesthetic result that lasts up to a year.

Durability depends on the following factors:

- Blood circulation of the skin

- The body's degradability

- How much movement there is in the treatment area

The result in the lips often lasts for 8-12 months. In the cheekbone area and under the eyes, the result can last for up to 2 years. The shelf life depends on the area treated. Follow-up treatments extend the shelf life.

What is the difference between Botox and Restylane?

Botox (Botulinum Toxin) is injected into the muscles under the skin, with Restylane being injected into the skin itself. Restylane is a sugar that is biocompatible with our natural hyaluronic acid that we have in the body. Botox is a micro-dose toxin (botulinum toxin type A) that blocks the nerve signals. The toxin is formed by the bacterium Clostridium Botulinum. Restylane fills in wrinkles, while Botox relaxes certain muscles in the face, temporarily reducing wrinkles.

What do I need to do before treatment?

  1. You must be consulted by one of our cosmetic nurses at least 48 hours before the treatment.
  2. You should avoid eating fish oils, Ipren, Kodimagnyl, Treo or drinking alcohol before treatment as it increases the risk of bruising.
  3. Take a bath from the morning, put your hair up if it is long and come without make-up.

Treatment with Restylane

At the consultation, we have selected the filler to be used for your treatment. When you come to get the treatment, we start by applying an anaesthetic cream on the selected area. The skin is then thoroughly disinfected. You are now ready to be treated. Restylane is injected into the skin using an ultra-thin needle. Restylane contains lidocaine, which is an anaesthetic. The local anaesthetic increases comfort and minimises discomfort during the injection treatment. Restylane is integrated with the tissue under the skin, ensuring a natural look.

After the treatment, the skin will react

Reactions to the treatment such as redness, swelling and itching can occur either immediately or later and can last for up to a week. Immediately after treatment with non-permanent filler, the skin will usually react with mild to moderate swelling, redness and tenderness as well as bruising. Some experience pain, tingling in the skin and itching. These reactions often disappear within a few days. The lips swell relatively much, and therefore most people do not want to go to work immediately after treatment of lips. Tenderness is experienced especially when treating the chin, temples and cheekbones.

Pay special attention to:

  • Do not touch the treated area for the first 6 hours to avoid infection.
  • Do not apply make-up and cream for the first 6 hours.
  • Do not exercise hard for the first 24 hours after treatment.
  • You must be exposed to high temperatures (sauna, steam bath, direct sunlight, solarium, etc.) for the first 24 hours, as it increases the risk of swelling and bruising gets worse.

Does the treatment hurt?

Before the injection treatment, we apply a local anaesthetic cream on sensitive areas such as the lips. In the Restylane product itself, local anaesthetic in the form of lidocaine has been added, which also helps to reduce pain and discomfort. If you are worried about the pain, remember to tell your doctor before the treatment so that it can be taken into account.

As a rule, you only notice a few short-lived dots. Both before and after Restylane treatment, it is important that you put ice on the area to minimise discomfort and to reduce the risk of swelling and bruising.

Is Restylane Safe?

Yes, it is safe when the treatment is performed correctly. Thorough disinfection of the treatment area before and after treatment is important to reduce the risk of inflammation. In addition, we only treat with small amounts at a time. This is to avoid any knots in the tissue.

Hyaluronic acid is already naturally present in the skin, and Restylane is made up of hyaluronic acid, so the skin does not react to it. Therefore, a treatment is completely safe. Millions of people have been treated with Restylane and very few side effects have been reported, such as redness, swelling, itching and soreness. Immediately after a treatment you will experience a bit of swelling and redness in the treated area. It is a normal reaction after a filler treatment. Usually the swelling and redness disappear after a few days.

Side effects often disappear after a few days

Typically, there are not many side effects with a filler treatment. The most common side effects are bruising, redness, soreness and swelling, which usually disappear after a few days.

Precautions

In the case of herpes outbreaks, we do not recommend treatment with non-permanent filler, as the virus can spread further. We also do not treat people who have an infection in the body or have untreated dental problems.
