How does Laser hair removal work?
Laser light is selectively absorbed by melanin, the pigment in the hair follicle. The light energy heats the pigment and effectively destroys the hair follicle without damaging the surrounding cells.
How is treatment carried out?
The Laser light is aimed at the body area to be treated and a short pulse of light is released, which targets many follicles simultaneously. The Laser is then moved to the adjacent area of skin and the process is repeated until the entire area is treated.
Am I suitable for treatment?
Most people are suitable. Best results are seen with people who have light skin and dark hair. Deluxe Skin offers the Ellipse I2PL2 which is effective in treating fairer hair types. Grey/white hair has no melanin so is not suitable for treatment.
Is laser hair removal a lasting treatment method?
The Ellipse I2PL2 laser hair removal system can offer significant, long-term results.*
Is laser hair removal safe?
The Ellipse I2PL2 laser hair removal system is clinically proven to be both safe and effective.
How long does it take?
The Ellipse I2PL2 is the fastest laser available with treatment taking as little as 5 minute on smaller areas.
Are there any side effects of laser hair removal treatment?
The skin can appear slightly red after treatments and the hair follicles which have been treated may appear raised or bumpy for up to 48 hours. Itching can occur in some individuals several days after treatment which tends to be mild and subside. Other side effects are rare.
How many treatments are required?
Treatment is conducted every 4-6 weeks on the face and body. The required number of treatments differs from patient to patient, generally 6-8 sessions are needed for optimum results.*
Who Is Not a Good Candidate?
IPL is not recommended for people who have:
- Pregnant Women

Why does Shockwave have so many applications?
For two reasons. Shockwaves work on your body at a cellular level to trigger responses, such as stimulating your cells to help the body to heal itself. Secondly, Shockwave Therapy is a blanket term covering several types of treatment – focused shockwave, radial pressure waves and vibration therapy. These all act in a similar, but slightly different way, which means Shockwave Therapy can treat all sorts of conditions.
Is Shockwave Therapy safe?
Yes. It has NICE guidance and FDA approval for a large number of indications.
Can Shockwave treat old/persistent injuries, or is it only for new problems?
There is a great deal of evidence to show that Shockwave can achieve great results even with historical conditions.
Is Shockwave painful?
It depends. Focused Shockwave is not painful at all. You should feel that something is happening but it is more of a sensation rather than pain. Radial Shockwave you may feel slight discomfort to begin with. However, the treatment is delivered with a low amount of energy at first, which is increased as your body gets used to it. Shockwave Therapy creates an analgesic effect, many patients report an immediate relief following shockwave therapy from the pain caused by their chronic conditions.
Does Laser Tattoo Removal Hurt?
Unfortunately, no method of tattoo removal is completely pain-free. Laser tattoo removal has been likened to the feeling of having a rubber band repeatedly snapped against the skin. Others describe it as a rapid succession of sharp pinpricks, or a warm, prickly sensation. Because a lot of energy is needed in order for the laser to break up the ink particles under your skin, this treatment can be uncomfortable for some people. Your skin will also need 6 – 12 weeks to recover between treatments.
How Does Laser Tattoo Removal Work?
Lasers remove tattoos by penetrating the skin and breaking up the ink into tiny particles. After several treatments (with regular intervals between sessions), the body breaks down and removes the pigment in the tattoo, causing it to fade.
How Long Will It Take To Remove My Tattoo With Lasers?
A course of 6-10 treatments is often enough to remove the tattoo, depending on the colour and depth of the tattoo ink.
How Do I Know Tattoo Removal Is Suitable For Me?
Laser tattoo removal may not be suitable for you if you have a dark skin tone; this is due to the potential of the treatment leaving a ‘ghosting’ effect, where the skin is lighter than the surrounding area. Our practitioners can assess your tattoo and determine which solution is most appropriate in a free consultation. In some cases, the most appropriate form of removal for a tattoo could be excision. This involves having the tattoo surgically removed using a scalpel. Although more invasive, it can sometimes be the most effective solution and may also be quicker.
I Want To Fade My Tattoo So I Can Have A New Design. How Many Treatments Will I Need?
A tattoo can be faded adequately to re-cover after a couple of sessions. Your practitioner will be able to advise how many sessions you are likely to need during your consultation.
I’ve had my tattoo done recently. It is easier to remove?
The ink particles of the tattoo will have been injected deep into the dermis (the second layer of skin). In order to reverse this process effectively, the pigment within the skin needs to be broken down using targeted lasers. Don’t be fooled into believing that if you have a change of heart shortly after getting your tattoo it can be easily removed.
Is Tattoo Removal Safe?
Yes, it’s very safe. The laser energy is selectively absorbed by the tattoo ink only, meaning that surrounding tissues are not affected and there is no lasting damage to the skin.
What’s The Difference Between Laser Tattoo Removal And Other Methods?
Other tattoo removal methods do not involve lasers. We do not recommend the following methods of tattoo removal because they can cause scarring and have a high risk of infection. Tattoo removal creams – these work by dissolving the tattoo using chemicals such as hydroquinone, kojic acid, alpha arbutin and TCA. They cannot completely remove a tattoo, but may reduce its appearance in some cases. Dermabrasion tattoo removal – this involves using an abrasive device to blast the surface of the skin in order to break down the tattoo and remove the top layers of skin. A local anaesthetic is usually administered as this is a painful method of removal. Salabrasion – this works in a similar way to dermabrasion but involves applying water and salt in addition to an abrasive device in order to lift and remove layers of skin. Acid tattoo removal – some people are now using acids, similar to those used in chemical skin peels, to burn away layers of the skin in order to get rid of their tattoos. Many health professionals strongly advise against this method.

How long does a pedicure take?
A treatment can take between 30 and 60 minutes, depending on the treatment area involved. This typically incudes a 20 min numbing period before the treatment can be performed.
What are the benefits?
There are numerous benefits in both the design and the treatment of micro needling fractional RF Technology.
With the Fractional Micro Needle RF System patients receive the ideal treatment so far innovated for deep tissue rejuvenation, skin lifting and tightening by means of minimally invasive micro-needles to deliver regulated pulses of radio frequency directly at various depths and uniform locations beneath the skin. Adjustable penetration depth of the microneedles can be achieved depending on the targeted tissue and type of condition being treated as well as its extent. It achieves remarkable results in terms of skin lifting, size reduction for pores, epidermal tightening and overall skin renewal. Collectively can treat numerous conditions in one session such as combined hyperpigmentation, atrophic scars, wrinkles, loose skin and acne marks. The treatment is minimally invasive. Hardly half an hour needed for the total procedure and downtime is comparatively tiny. Reduced risks of infection or post-operative inflammation, hyper pigmentation or scarring.
How long does recovery take?
This is very much dependant on the individual natural recovery and metabolic rate. We have seen that the face typically has a quicker recovery time compared to arms and stomach. However, this treatment has long term results so expect up to 1 week of recovery time.
Do I need to prepare anything in advance?
Prior to coming to the clinic, ensure your skin is clan and has no make up. Clients are asked to have a apply numbing cream to the treatment are at least 20 mins before. This is usually dependant on individual pain threshold. As microneedles are penetrated directly into the dermis, this can be a painful experience for some. However, with application of numbing cream the pain is dramatically decreased and the treatment becomes a fairly easy to administer and endure.
What to expect as post treatment?
Mild redness and swelling may occur a few hours and up to 24 hours after treatment. Massage and excessive sun exposure should be avoided at this time. More aggressive treatments may result in skin flaking as the new skin layer regenerates. Moisturisers and broad spectrum sunscreens are highly recommended during this recovery phase.
RF energy once delivered into the deep layers of the dermis induces regenerative processes in the skin to begin. In 4 days needle marks will fade away completely and the swelling will subside in most patients while patients will begin to feel a noticeable difference in skin tone, smoothness and elasticity. So far fractional RF microneedle therapy is a great anti-ageing technique.

FAQs available on the respected treatment page, under “Our Treatments Tab”
Radio Frequency Skin Tightening Overview
The effects of radio frequency treatments are mostly attributable to the heat that is generated by the RF waves. In the field of skin care and ant-ageing treatments, RF waves are most commonly used for facial rejuvenation and their believed ability to stimulate the protein fibers that keep the skin elastic. During treatment, the RF waves penetrate the skin to tighten it from the inside out, as they stimulate collagen fibroblast production, which will trigger the production of fresh collagen fibres which result in tighter, more taught skin which is demonstrably younger.
What to Expect During an RF Skin Tightening Treatment?
Our practitioners will require you wash your face with a mild soap and warm water before you arrive for your treatment, as it is important that no excess oils or cosmetics remain on the skin that might reduce the effectiveness of the procedure. When treatment begins, a numbing cream may be applied to the skin and then allowed to sit until it takes effect. It will then be removed, and the skin care specialist will target the treatment area with an ink grid transfer so that the treatment is focused and that no other skin is accidentally affected.
A gliding gel will then be applied to the skin before the RF waves are delivered to the skin. Depending on the sensitivity of your skin, you may feel a heated sensation during treatment, but the side effects of the treatment are believed to be minimal for most patients. When the treatment is over, our practitioner will apply a topical cooling gel to the treated area to minimize discomfort.
Radio Frequency Skin Tightening Side Effects
You may experience some redness and swelling in the treated area after a radio frequency skin tightening procedure, but these symptoms should resolve themselves within 24-48 hours. Misting the face with cool water may help to reduce the irritation, although you should ensure that only clean, purified water is used for these purposes. Some patients have reported sinking of the skin in the treated area, but this has mostly occurred with intense RF treatments. In most cases, these treatments have a low instance of side effects and are considered a viable anti-ageing treatment for a wide array of skin types.
Who is it suitable for?
Anyone, male or female, who wishes to remove wrinkles and lines from the facial area. The radio frequency facial is suitable for all skin types.
How Many Treatments of Focused Fractional RF Are Recommended?
6 to 8 treatments delivered on a weekly basis is recommended for most clients depending on desired results and skin area. It is important to book in for a complimentary consultation to get the correct assessment of the area you want to have treated.
What Results Can I Expect from RF Treatment?
Results are often immediate; however, a course of treatments are recommended as results improve after each treatment.
What Will I Experience from This Treatment?
RF is a relaxing treatment with little or no discomfort. Glycerine will be applied to the skin which acts as a conductor for the RF energy. A hand piece will be placed onto the skin and moved in circular motions. Our machinery will emit a slight beeping noise as the hand piece gets warmer, building slowly until it reaches 40 degrees. Periodically your therapist will use an infrared thermometer to measure the heat of the skin. Once the temperature has built to 40 degrees your therapist will continue to maintain the heat, continuing treatment on the area for 2 to 4 minutes.
What do I need to do before a treatment?
Three days before beginning treatments clients are advised to drink at least 2 litres of water per day. This is so that the Ultrasound and Radio Frequency waves can target water molecules under the skins surface and so the more that are available the more successful the treatment will be. It is also advisable to do the same for 3 days after the treatment.
What happens during treatment?
The treatment is fairly relaxing and pain free. First, an in depth consultation will take place during which a treatment plan will be discussed and tailored to your own specific needs. We will record your measurements required and ask the you to sit or lie down depending on what area is to be treated. The area to be treated is discreetly exposed and gel is applied. The ultrasonic cavitation hand piece is then systematically moved over the area you wish to contour and/or smooth by liquefying fat cells. Then the radio frequency hand piece is slowly rotated over the target area transmitting radio waves through the upper layers of the skin to the dermis, heating the dermis to between 40-45 degrees Celsius without burning the skins surface. Your skin will feel increasingly warm in the treated area. It is important to let the us know if the treatment is becoming uncomfortable so that we can move on to another area. At the same time as Radio Frequency the vacuum is used to increase blood circulation through the area and facilitate lymphatic drainage.
What can I expect from the results?
The treatment improves the look and feel of both the deep and superficial skin layers by rejuvenating skin, reducing cellulite and contouring the body. The treatment is safe, effective, and non-invasive. Most clients experience a reduction in circumference after the first session, with increasing results after each visit but especially after the third treatment and onward. The results may vary from person to person with different tissue structure, treatment area, age, metabolism, medications, and changes in hormones. Proper diet and increased physical activity will certainly improve and help to maintain the results. Results will continue to improve for several weeks following the last treatment session. You will continue to metabolize fat for up to twelve weeks which means that, as most people do not make new fat cells in later life, the loss can be permanent. This procedure will also leave you with firmer, smoother looking skin than before, due to the inclusion of Radio Frequency Therapy which encourages the fibroblasts within the skin to produce collagen.
How long is each treatment?
Treatments can range from 15 to 60 minutes depending on the body area treated.
Is there a recovery period?
No down time is required after treatment. Patients can return to work or other activities immediately. In rare cases, mild discomfort or swelling occur.
Are there any risks associated with this treatment?
This therapy is non-invasive, there are few real risks associated with it as long as there are no contraindications. Occasionally patients may experience some discomfort or swelling, which is easily managed.
How many treatments will I need?
Patients can see results after the first treatment. However, most patients produce the best results after 3 to 6 sessions. This depends on body mass and circumference size, age, hormonal balance, medications and your desired goals. Incorporating the eating suggestions included in your program will reduce the number of treatments that may be needed. During your consultation, we will suggest the appropriate number of treatments you will need for optimal results. Maintenance treatments every 6 months is also recommended.
Are the treatments affordable?
The cost of the treatment depends on the size of area or areas treated. Smaller areas requiring less time will be less cost than larger areas. After your consultation, we will determine the amount of treatments required and the cost. The treatment is comparable to other cellulite and skin toning treatments available. Our goal is to make treatments affordable and for you to see results.
Any different result for different people?
Yes, generally speaking, oily skin will have better results than dry skin. Dry skin has less water molecules for the the ultrasound and radio frequency waves to work with, it is less elastic and more fragile, so keeping the skin moisturised and hydrated is advised before treatment.
Could customers do IPL and RF together?
It is better to do RF after 7 days of IPL treatment.
Why do you advise women patients to not take Ultrasonic RF treatment during menstruation?
During menstruation your body may be more sensitive to the treatment.
Can it remove stretch marks?
RF treatment will not remove stretchmark’s, but it will minimize it. The RF energy helps rebuild the broken and old collagen and improve the surrounding and lighten the pigmentations. Please speak to us regarding better solutions on reducing stretch marks.
Is it possible to lose weight with this treatment?
Because you are reducing fat deposits you may experience some loss in weight but it is not a weight loss treatment. It is particularly indicated to reduce adipose fat and cellulite which will reduce circumference. Diet suggestions will be recommended to follow throughout your treatment program and will enhance the elimination of fat deposits and the loss of weight.

Will I lose weight with ultrasonic cavitation?
Ultrasound Cavitation is not a method to lose weight but to sculpt those localized areas that don’t seem to improve with diet and exercise.
How does ultrasonic cavitation work?
A fully trained therapist will apply a gel and the ultrasound hand piece into your skin. Specific parameters of ultrasound cavitation are selected by your therapist to ensure that only the targeted area is being treated. The ultrasound cavitation hand piece once in contact with your skin delivers ultrasonic low level waves that travel at high speed cycles compressing and expanding forming pressure effects around the liquid molecules and fat cells. This continuous process will result on micro bubbles that increase in size and run into each other and burst. This process doesn’t affect skin tissue. The ultrasound waves will disrupt fat cells membranes. The adipocytes (fat cells) contain triglycerides that are released into interstitial fluid and are processed by your metabolism pathways. In order to understand better, the cell membranes of the adipocytes are compromised and triglycerides are released in our body. This will begin the process of breaking them down. Glycerol and fatty acids are then transported in the blood and will bind into albumin and are slowly synthesized in our liver for it to be removed or moved to other tissues as building blocks or used as energy. Our aim is to aid and remove fat through the lymphatic system and finally be excreted by urine.
How many treatments will I need?
Your therapist will be able to indicate how many sessions depending on the area and volume. Usually 6 to 10 sessions are needed but this will vary from person to person.
What are your recommendations before and after an ultrasound cavitation?
Low calorie diet but with adequate amounts of protein and certain carbohydrates. Drink 1.5 litters of water before and after the session. Drinking water is important to help flush toxins and eliminate fat. Regular exercise like walking, swimming or other cardio activities.
Am I suitable for ultrasound?
You are, if you don’t have the following conditions:
Under 18 Pregnant or Breastfeeding Liver or kidney disease Hypertension Heart Problems and pacemakers Diabetes Poor Blood or Lymph Circulation Allergies to certain metals Cancer Intra uterine (coil) so it can’t be performed on the abdomen High cholesterol Autoimmune diseases Skin infections and diseases Skin cuts or abrasions Thyroid Taking anti-inflammatory, anticoagulants and antibiotic medications Varicose veins
How painful is it?
The discomfort has been compared to tweezing, but threading removes hair quickly, so it’s over sooner than tweezing. The amount of pain has a lot to do with where the location of hair is being removed and personal tolerance. Use a warm compress to relax the hair follicle for an easier exit, and apply a numbing spray or cream prior to service if you’re sensitive to any discomfort.
How long do results last?
This is dependent on the body part being threaded and individuals. On average results can last up to 6 weeks and studies suggest regular threading can lead to an overall reduction in hair growth.
How often should I get threading done?
Threading is a treatment that is done on a regular basis. However, it is completely dependant on the individual when they require the next treatment. Unlike laser that is usually scheduled to be performed within a set time scale.
Is it painful?
No. It is very similar to getting hair dye done
How long do results last?
Results typically last between 3 to 4 weeks
How often should I get tinting done?
Tinting is a treatment that is done on a regular basis. However, it is completely dependant on the individual when they require the next treatment
What is a manicure good for?A manicure is good for improving the texture and health of both your fingernails and the skin of your hands, as well as leaving them looking polished and perfect.
Apart from making sure your hands and nails look and feel good, a manicure often has the side-effect of relaxing you; there are pressure points on your hands that correspond to other areas of your body.
If you have an injury to your hand — a wound, or joint or muscle strain, or a rash or broken skin — you are well advised to wait until you recover before you have a manicure, or else make your manicurist very aware of your limitations.
What to expect from a manicure?
A manicure is usually very soothing. It can be nice to have someone touch your hands and nails, especially if the manicurist uses reflexology or other hand-massage techniques to relax you. You will probably be one-on-one with the manicurist, who should tell you what she is going to do and check to see if you have any queries or concerns. A manicurist will usually dress your nails with your choice of nail colour, and you may also be able to have more decorative nail art applied. Check beforehand if you want this, as you may need another person to do the honours.
How much time does a manicure take?
A manicure can last from 15 minutes to more than an hour, depending on what you’re having done. Generally speaking, the longer the time allocated to the manicure, the more elements you can expect.
What after care should I expect?
Leave yourself enough time to get the full benefit of the treatment, and make sure you don’t have to rush off. If for any reason the manicure takes longer, it’s hard to drive with sticky polish still drying on your fingers! Whilst shop-bought nail polish often takes five minutes to dry, salon colour can take up to 12 hours to dry completely.
Don’t wear gloves, or anticipate needing your hands for any kind of dextrous work immediately after a manicure. It may not be the best thing to go straight back to banging away on a computer keyboard, doing someone’s hair, or bathing your children if you have just had delicate solutions applied to your nails.
What to expect from a Pedicure?
A traditional pedicure begins with a therapeutic foot bath or spa. Your feet are soaked and cleansed in warm, scented water to soften the skin — like a mini-Jacuzzi for your feet. An exfoliating rub will slough off dead skin with salts or minerals. Our pedicurist will also remove your cuticles and cut and shape your toenails. Creams and aromatherapy oils are massaged into your feet to refresh and soften your skin. We provide options to massage your lower legs and maybe give an acupressure or reflexology-based foot massage to help relax you. A good pedicure will result in your feet looking as well as feeling fantastic.
Depending on the type of pedicure selected, they may include the use of hot stones, mud, wraps and algae.
How long does a pedicure take?
A pedicure will usually last between 30 and 90 minutes, depending on the techniques involved. Allow time afterwards to ease yourself back into standing up!
What footwear should I wear after treatment?
Choice of footwear is crucial. You don’t want to have to push newly high-gloss finished toenails into socks and shoes for your travel home. Whatever your feet arrive in, we recommend that you have flip-flops or open sandals to wear afterwards.
Will I be covered during the session?
You will be properly covered or draped at all times to keep you warm and comfortable. Only the area being worked on will be exposed. No areas will be exposed without your consent. You should always let your therapist know if you are uncomfortable for any reason during your massage session.
Must I be completely undressed?
You should undress to your desired level of comfort. About half of our clients prefer to be completely undressed, while the other half prefers to keep their undergarments on. This is completely up to you. You will undress and dress in the privacy of your massage room and will be securely covered by a blanket and a sheet during your massage session.
How often should I receive a massage?
For those who use massage as preventative care or to manage daily stress, one massage a month is common. Weekly sessions may be desirable if you are receiving massage for injury relief or to relieve chronic tightness that is interfering with your daily life. There are many people who incorporate massage therapy at least twice a month for optimal therapeutic relief.
How painful is it?
The discomfort has been compared to tweezing, but waxing removes hair quickly, so it’s over sooner than tweezing.
On average results can last up to 6 weeks and studies suggest regular waxing can lead to an overall reduction in hair growth.
How often should I get wax done?
Waxing is a treatment that is done on a regular basis. However, it is completely dependant on the individual when they require the next treatment. Unlike laser that is usually scheduled to be performed within a set time scale.
Will my skin break out?
Break outs are not uncommon. Facials detoxify, lifting impurities to the surface and should disappear within a week. Many times clients are unaware of ingredients that their skin may have sensitivities to. Be sure to alert your aesthetician to any allergies or products your skin has reacted to in the past. Also note that diet, stress, lack of sleep and hormone imbalance play into breakouts. Be mindful of toxins such as sugar, alcohol and caffeine that can contribute to problematic skin. Drink plenty of water to keep toxins flushed and skin hydrated.
Will my skin be red and irritated?
It is possible for your skin to be red from the steam and extractions. Our active ingredients and facial massage, also activate circulation which also causes redness. This can last several hours. Depending on the level of exfoliation used, your skin can also feel slightly itchy, dry and tight for a few days after. Stay hydrated and moisturize skin as directed. Be mindful of your diet and drink plenty of water to keep skin hydrated. Remember that alcohol and caffeine can also dehydrate skin and cause further redness.
Do I need to wash my face prior to the facial?
No, we’ve got you covered!
Will facials fix my acne, scarring, wrinkles and or hyperpigmentation?
It is our goal to help our clients achieve younger, beautiful skin! Unfortunately, there is no miracle cure and facials don’t always make all of these problems disappear. Generally, facials will improve the skin, giving it a healthier texture and vibrant appearance. With proper diet, stress management, home care and routine facials or peels, these issues will diminish over time.
Can I wear make up right after the facial?
It is best to let your skin breathe and absorb all of the nutrients from your treatment. Some cosmetics may also irritate your skin. We do retail organic, hydrating and oil absorbing foundations that will protect and cover your skin.
How do I care for my skin after my facial?
We generally recommend being gentle with your skin after treatment. Do not exfoliate for at least 5 days after your facial. Keep your skin hydrated by drinking plenty of water and applying the proper moisturizer and sunscreen. We can also recommend products to use at home to keep your skin glowing!
How often should I get facials?
Once a month for the best results, however if that is not in your budget, we highly recommend investing in a good skin care regimen for home and coming as often as you can for facials. We do run monthly specials and offer packages to keep your visits affordable!
What to know about your treatment?
Our exfoliation methods are designed to remove epidermal layers of the skin using an appropriate acid or enzyme solution.
Benefits of exfoliation:
Dries out active acne Reduces shallow wrinkling and scarring Lightens hyper pigmented areas (dark patches) Improves the appearance and health of sun damaged and aged skin
Once the exfoliate has been applied, you will notice some tingling, itching and burning sensations. Your skin may feel warm and spicy. If there is severe discomfort, please alert your aesthetician.
Please note that allergic reactions to some skin care ingredients are not uncommon. Alert your skin care therapist of known allergies so that they can determine if any of our products may be unsuitable for your skin.
When the treatment is finished, the skin may become red due to the intensity of the exfoliate and extractions.
Post facial, the exfoliation can cause:
Light flaking (dead cells lifting from skin) though it is not always visible. Tight, dry skin (drink plenty of water and moisturize skin) Breakouts can occur as the exfoliation process lifts impurities to the surface.
Allow your skin to go through this process naturally. Do not pick or scrub your skin during the period of flaking. Always use sun protection and do not expose your skin to direct sunlight.
