Botox® Injections

Botox® Injections at Derma Solution

Botox® is an approved drug, based on the protein substance botulinum toxin type A. It works by weakening the muscles into which it is injected. For cosmetic treatment, botulinum toxin is used is small doses to temporarily relax facial muscles and prevent overuse. As facial muscles contract, the loose skin above those muscles wrinkles. By weakening the muscles, the wrinkles are reduced. This in time will smooth facial lines and wrinkles and give a rejuvenated result.

The treatment is administered through a series of precise and formulated injection points. The product is introduced to the face via ultra-fine microneedles. They are specially-designed to reduce the pain of the injection and to make your treatment as comfortable and stress-free as possible. We do, however, provide numbing cream for patients, if requested.

While they may have made their name through celebrity use, BOTOX® injections are an affordable treatment that anyone can access. Unlike some cosmetic medical treatments, they’re suitable for virtually anyone who has wrinkles or other skin lines that they want to remove. This includes people who want to fight the signs of natural ageing, or those who’ve developed lines from exposure to the sun.

It is commonly used to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. However, there are a number of further uses of Botox® including but not limited to treating excessive sweating, migraines and muscular disorders.

It is possible to combine the treatment with botulinum toxin with non-permanent fillers, laser, chemical peels and/ or other skin rejuvenation treatments.

Do I need a consultation first?

Before your first Botox treatment at Derma Solution, there is a legal requirement to have a non-obligatory consultation with a dermatologist. Furthermore, this needs to be done 48 hours before treatment commences to give you a chance to change your mind.

Is Botox Safe?

Yes definitely. Botox has been FDA approved since 2002 for treating ageing lines effectively. Like most cosmetic treatments, side effects can occur, some clients report mild bruising whilst very occasionally – approximately 1-3% – experience a ‘droopy eyelid’ both however can be corrected or will fade in time. To reduce the risk of complications it is important that anti-wrinkle injectables are administered by highly qualified practitioners in a safe and medical environment.

How To Get Rid Of Wrinkles

Wrinkles, though inevitable, needn’t be permanent. There are a number of professional skin treatments designed to address fine lines and wrinkles – and even help prevent them. These include anti-ageing injectable treatments such as BOTOX®, dermal fillers, and treatments designed to strip back ageing skin and encourage collagen production, such as laser resurfacing, microdermabrasion and skin peels.

What Areas Can Be Treated With Botox?

BOTOX® injectables are mainly used for the face. Forehead wrinkles, crow’s feet lines around the eyes, and the “11 lines” between the eyebrows are the most popular areas. However, other uses include preventing excess sweating.
